Not sure if this is one of the things, but often there are are a few features that require a firmware update that comes within a few days.  This is for features that were not in the original watch but were added after its release;  I believe the firmware update doesn't get added to new watches until they are purchased.  It usually comes promptly within a couple of days after it is set up.

Hi there, @EsmaeG. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for taking the time to troubleshoot the inconvenience with Find my Phone app on your Luxe.

As @JohnnyRow has mentioned, and confirming with your last response that your Luxe is pretty new, please it a couple of days more to see if you receive the new update which will allow you to install the most recent app available for our Fitbit devices.

For Luxe the current OS should be version 194.91. To see the current version installed on your watch, go into the Fitbit app, tap the Today tab > Devices  > your device image. The firmware version number appears under your device's name. For more information, see How do I update my Fitbit device?

Once you manage to update your Luxe and install the Find My Phone app, keep in mind the following requirements in order for the Find Phone app to work properly:

  • Your smartwatch must be connected (“paired”) to the phone you want to locate.
  • Your phone must have Bluetooth turned on and be within 30 feet (10m) of your Fitbit device.
  • The Fitbit app must be running in the background on your phone.
  • Your phone must be turned on.

To find your phone:

  • Open the Find Phone app on your smartwatch.
  • Tap Find Phone. Your phone rings loudly.
  • When you locate your phone, tap Cancel to end the ringtone.

If the issue persists, see How do I troubleshoot apps on my Fitbit device?

Another question...does removing my old Charge 2 from the account delete any data on it?
In other words, if I give it away will someone else be able to see my history?

Your history is stored on the main Fitbit database under your Fitbit ID/email, not on your phone, so you are safe unless you give away your phone and your email and password with it.

Please read the responses to the original post to see that the update comes within a few days, not immediately.

Ok, will check in a few days. My daughter got hers Christmas day. Hers didn't show that when she got it. Will check later to see if hers has a update and can find her phone. Thank you

It's  within a few days after connecting it to Fitbit; that's when Fitbit knows that it is active to start the firmware update process.  It will be obvious in Fitbit app when firmware update is available.  But I don't remember for sure if "find my phone" was one of the features that got added after original release to be sure that is the issue here; just guessing that is the case; but best to wait a few days for a firmware update to see if that is the case.

Next question....why does my Luxe not open when I flick my wrist - was doing that, but now I seem to have to tap it?

Swipe down from clock face to get to Quick Settings. You probably accidentally accidentally either have Screen Wake turned off or are in Sleep Mode.

By the way, you are generally better off starting a new thread for a new question to make sure it gets seen.
