Fitbit Luxe and waterproofing

I realize that the Luxe has a waterlock button but is it necessary to use every time one has a shower? I seems a little kludgy that you have to scroll to water lock and tap twice to set it up and then essentially tap four times to get back to the clock. Is a shower where you may have you hand in the flow occasionally going to damage the device? Or is it better just to take it off?

My understanding is that the water lock is not there to prevent damage to the fitbit, but is there to stop the water triggering actions on the screen. Fitbit say:

"Turn on the water lock setting when you're in water, for example showering or swimming, to prevent your screen from activating."

Hi @jbarnett12  many of us remove our Fitbit and let it charge while getting a shower. You really won't get many steps in the shower, even if you're dancing about, so taking it off might be the best thing to do. I don't like getting shampoo, conditioner, shower gel or whatever else on my device, so I take it off.
