Fitbit Luxe takes too long to sync

This is my 3d Fitbit but the Luxe is the SLOWEST to sync using the app. Why is that? I get the following display regularly: “Syncing your Luxe….sync is taking a while, sit tight”. Sometimes it take lab:60-:90 seconds to sync.  WHY?

I use an iphone and it takes forever to sync with the luxe, the same with the Luxe I got my mum (iphone user as well).  It has been like this for a while now and no amount of restarts of luxe or phone has ever helped.  I'm not sure if this is just an iphone problem or it happens to both android/iphone users.

Hi there, @SpaceGuyBiff. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Luxe. I understand where your concern is coming from.

While reading your post, I was wondering if you are using the same mobile phone you used with the previous Fitbit devices? If so, I'd suggest making sure none of those Fitbit devices are still linked to your phone's Bluetooth settings as this may be causing some connectivity issues with your Luxe.

With the above being said, please try the following:

  • Unpair your Luxe and any other Fitbit device still linked to your phone's Bluetooth and Fitbit app.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your new Luxe again.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Luxe.

Hope this helps.

Hello MarreFitbit: per your questions/suggestions:

1. Are you using the same mobile phone you used with the previous Fitbit devices? YES I AM.
2. If so, I'd suggest making sure none of those Fitbit devices are still linked to your phone's Bluetooth settings as this may be causing some connectivity issues with your Luxe. None of my previous Fitbit devices are linked to my phone.

With the above being said, please try the following:

1. Unpair your Luxe and any other Fitbit device still linked to your phone's Bluetooth and Fitbit app. DID ALL THIS.

2. Force quit the Fitbit app. DONE

3. Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. ALSO DONE; only my FitBit is active on BlueTooth most of the day.

4. Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes. Turn on the Bluetooth on your phone. Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app. Set up<> your new Luxe again. If there is no connection, restart<> your Luxe. DID ALL THIS.

My Luxe remains slow to sync and I'm wondering if this is a design flaw and perhaps why it was being sold at a $50 DISCOUNT!!!!!

Please advise.

Hi SpaceGuyBiff,

This is my 2nd Luxe in 3 months and amongst other problems I have the same as you.

Happy that you got a discounted price (I  didn't) because you can stand on your head to fix issues that reappear in a couple of days.

Tried all that messing that MarreFit suggested...no joy.  But then, you shouldn't have to. Apart from looking good the Luxe is rubbish.

Hope that you get a sleep score, I don't have that either.

This is my fourth and last Fitbit, we don't purchase these products to do homework to find how they work.

Good luck.

Hi,

I'm an Android user and have the same problem but it only began 2 wks ago.  Odd that, I've had the Luxe for 3 months.

Tried the suggested fixes from MarreFitbit, no joy.

Good luck and happy if that is your only problem.

Totally agree but I don’t think it’s an iPhone problem. I think it’s totally a Fitbit problem.

Wow sorry to hear that you have had all that trouble. I have really enjoyed my Fitbits. I got rid of my Inspire because the display was terrible in full light so I thought the Luxe would be good. Luxe has a great display but syncing time is ridiculous.

Same here--iPhone but had the Luxe for several months where it was working more flawlessly than any Fitbit ever has; now all of a sudden just today it has stopped syncing automatically and takes forever to sync manually. It is my 4th Fitbit too, using them since 2016, and every time there's a problem like this I think about switching to a product that actually works without having to do the constant research on why it's acting funky... then it'll fix itself at some point and I'll manage to forget about the headaches till the next time. Would be nice if they could just, you know, work dependably.

Interesting. Makes me wonder if there is anyone who doesn't have a problem at some point.I too have the syncing problem on top of the no sleep stages...back to square one on that one after a couple of days of breathing easy.  Now, in the morning I open the App with hope and trepidation only to be let down again.Fitbit obviously are aware of these problems and doing nothing, after all, they have our money and probably hope that we'll just tire of complaining and quietly go away, as I have done.An expensive exercise which leaves me wondering where to go from here.Good luck.
