Fitbit Luxe won't track my sleep score

I get a sleep score perhaps 50% of the time. The rest of the time I don't. When I don't I get a message saying I only got a simplified sleep score because the tracker couldn't get a consistent heart rate while I slept.

OK - but I wonder why. The  tracker is always on my wrist - I sleep between 6 and 8 hours a night in the same bed on my same side. Why does it get a consistent heart rate some days but not others?

Hi there, @allan473. It's nice to see you around the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post. I understand where your concern is coming from.

Keep in mind that you must see sleep stages in order to see your sleep score information. Please swipe left on the Sleep Score graph, here you can see information about your weekly sleep average and sleep duration. To get more detailed information, see What's sleep score in the Fitbit app?

With that in mind, I recommend considering the following in order to get sleep stages:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

For more information, see What should I know about Fitbit sleep stages?

Hope this helps.

I did a search and found your answer has been given several times as replies to past posts.

I will try moving the Luxe higher on my wrist. It certainly was not loose.

I don't understand "If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking," Right now I have an 8 hour goal with no bedtime or wake up time set. Are you saying I should set those and it might improve getting sleep stages? (I go to bed and wake up at different times each day - retired - no need to keep a schedule.)

Update: No progress. I had a sleep score till last Thursday. I followed the advise above but there is no sleep score. I had sure I am sleeping just as before but no luck, or no score.

I also have the same problem.

I wear my device and the tightness of the wrist is the same every day,

but sometimes there are scores, sometimes not.
This troubles me a lot!
