Fitbit app is showing a red dot for my battery status

The last few weeks I have had a red dot on my battery indicator in the app. I read all the posts in the community group and on Google and can't find anything that indicates what this is for. It's not the notifications. It's not the messages. This is in the upper left corner of the App window. I reinstalled the app and reset my fitbit. And it's still there.

A few weeks ago I had an inconsistent battery indicator (showing 100% when it could not have been) and after reinstalling the app and resetting my fitbit I was able to get the battery to indicate correctly. This is 2 reinstall and two resets in just a couple of weeks but this time it did not fix the problem.

Oh -- this fitbit is one month old.

What is the red dot on the battery statusin the app?

It means that your Luxe has an update available. I don’t recommended updating if you are a female. Your menstrual tracking will stop working on your Luxe. I just had to go through 3 months of getting a warrantee claim because of this. They did send me a new device just yesterday. I connected it yesterday and today I have that same red dot. I noticed when I click on it, it says update available. But I will be ignoring it.

Hi, @laverne-sugar, welcome to the community, I can't say I've seen the indicator you report, Might it be a "Friend" posting? can you post a screenshot? If you pair a new device with the app before it syncs for the first time you will see a red battery icon (not a dot) but on syncing this changes to the regular icon with a %. If you are experiencing a malfunction and as your device is new it might be a good move to talk to "Customer Support" but I'm not convinced what you see is a malfunction.

Let us know if there are further developments.

Cheers

I have the same issue. Red dot top left beside battey percentage. No notifications. Does it mean its connected to the app or something else. Brand new just got it and enjoy it so far. Just can't find a anwser for it.

@laverne-sugar  @Miller24time  @Gr4ndp4   It might mean that your phone doesn't support MobileTrack, the feature that uses your phone to count steps if you aren't wearing your Fitbit.  It was on my Fitbit app on my iPad -- a different older account.  When I tapped on it, I got a message that my iPad doesn't support step tracking.

When I tap the icon it just brings me to devices.

Hi, @Miller24time Thanks for the update, is there anything indicating it applies to your device (which one is it?) or the phone? Are there any other indicators as mentioned by @LZeeW

Cheers

Nothing indicating. I just turned on my mobile track as was mentioned and it still appears. It has synced but maybe a hard reset after I changed it.

@Miller24time   How very odd.  Now mine is gone.  I didn't do a thing.

I was having this trouble also so I tapped the red dot and it said I needed to update my Fitbit. I did about a 20 minute update and the light is gone!
