I do the same walk everyday around 6000 steps always in trainers. Last 2 days I wore open sandals and my step count both days was around 5000.
The only difference was my footwear
edit: just did the walk today in trainers and steps back up to 6000

Hi @Angie124 my steps are worse in my Crocs than in my walking shoes. A friend of mine wore Birkenstocks and said they were the footwear for old people because it slowed a person down. I think sandals might come off, so we walk a bit slower. Glad you found out the difference and shared that with us. I never thought about which shoes I wore when my steps were higher.
