Hi there
My Fitbit Luxe has been having some issues with GPS tracking and distances on my runs.
It connects to GPS when I start the run (but only after re syncing the app) but cuts out very quickly (within 100 metres). When I get home and look at my exercise, it says I’ve ran different distances even on the same running routes… like last week it said I ran 4.2km, week before last was 4.97km, and this week it said 3.8km. Before anyone asks, I’ve checked my stride length. This is really annoying me now because it’s not a one off, and when it connects at the beginning of the run I think great it’s tracking, then it turns out it’s not.
Also I wanted to update the run to the distance that I know it is, but when I click edit exercise details, it only lets me change start and finish time, not distance 😞
Hope someone can help

Hi CharlieBear29, I have the Fitbit luxe too. Yes, the Fitbit app must be left running in the background. In the first place, the GPS on the Luxe would not connect when the Fitbit app is not open on your phone. So there is no way it can remain connected during the run when the app is closed when your run starts. I've used it for many runs already and it has always recorded the distance accurately.

Sorry for silly question but are you carrying the phone with you? The fact that GPS connection drops after 100 meters gives me such hint.
Luxe doesn't have GPS sensor so it needs the permanent connection with the phone, if not it will move to a step counter mode and it's likely the step counting is very inaccurate to provide reliable distances.

Yes, I do carry the phone with me. The only thing I thought of that I have left to Ty is next time I go for a run, I’ll leave the Fitbit app open in the background of my phone. I will reply here if that works, otherwise I’m stumped!
