How do I track "dancing" with my Luxe?

Can anyone suggest what would be the best setting for dancing? If I do dance workouts I usually set it to workouts. But when I take my tap dance class if it’s left to auto-sense it’s not capturing it as an exercise.

I wish they had a dance exercise shortcut!

Thanks everyone

Hi there, @SunsetRunner. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post. I understand how important is to you to keep track of your dancing routines.

As @MakMak has mentioned, please note that when a specific exercise is not available within the exercises we offer, we suggest to use "Workout" (which is a generic catch-all for other types of exercise). Once you finish the activity, you can rename the activity to desired exercise/activity. Please note that the amount of calories burned vary from the exercise you're performing and due to the heart rate tracked by your Luxe.

Note that the information to enter will change depending on the nature of the exercise. To give you an example, if you change from "Workout" to "Dance", it won't remove the calories but will add distance or steps as the main stat to be displayed, this happen depending of the activity you are categorizing. However, your the data already tracked will be still counted for your daily totals.

For more information about how to do so, see How do I add, edit, or delete Fitbit data and activities?

Hope this helps.

Hi, @SunsetRunner! I would suggest workout for that one, too. You can always rename it to dance after the fact.

Hi!

i’ve noticed that few weeks ago when i categorise workout as dance afterwards, it adds pace, km, which i believe is not applicable to the dance, can you explain why it started and how to fix it?
