I have an old Alta HR and my primary complaint with it is that the screen is not bright and pretty much unreadable outdoors.
does the Luxe have a brighter screen? Also, is the material used for the Luxe display any harder or more durable than the Alta HR’s, which scratches easily?

You’re welcome! I used it at the pool yesterday when it was sunny, and it was easy to see the screen. I can see it well using polarized sunglasses too, which was difficult with the Alta HR.

I bought the luxe to replace my Alta HR that died a few weeks ago. Sadly, I can’t directly compare them, but so far it seems much easier to see outside. That being said, it has been pretty cold/cloudy the couple days I’ve used the luxe, and I haven’t done any strenuous outdoor activity yet. You are able to adjust the screen brightness up/down.
I purchased a third party screen protector from Amazon to prevent scratching, as I scratched up my Alta pretty good. It hasn’t shipped yet, so I cut one that we already had for my fiancé’s charge 4 into a smaller size.(California Pro Tek with wet installation, easiest screen protector to put on that I’ve ever used) I would definitely recommend a screen protector if you’re an active person/wear it all the time.
However, a lot of people (myself included) are having connectivity issues with the luxe. I would hold off on upgrading to the luxe for a few weeks in the hope these issues get sorted out.

Thank you so much. I'll wait to see what happens. I had noticed some having connectivity issues.

The clock is easy to read but the stats, like STEPS, are microscopic.
super small and almost impossible to read from a normal distance.
