I loved the chain option for the wrist on the Fitbit Luxe. I had worn a Fitbit faithfully for a long time before it stopped charging, and really enjoyed having a physical representation of how much I did during the day. Within a month, the Luxe had fallen off on its own a couple times. I had to actually be careful with a Fitbit which almost ruins the point. Now it is completely lost. I was too busy to stop and google Immediately when the battery would’ve worked for some of the search apps they suggest. Apparently there’s a cheap guard you can buy online that helps prevent this as well, which makes me wonder why they wouldn’t include the cheap card with the watch. I feel like I paid money for a job that took time out of my life and have nothing but frustration to show for it.

This is to add some more comments to my previous message, as I'm trying to solve the issue.
There are two mode to start a workout, via the tracker or via the app. Via the app all works fine I get my workout sessions not sure if heart rate is recorded in this way. Second method I start the workout session via the watch, the Gps signal comes from the phone
Questions:
- do I need to launch the Fitbit app prior to start run session with the Luxe? It should run in background, as it is enabled from launch
- which does what?: the phone picks up the gps signal, Fitbit App gets the data how? a Google Api?, or Android (10) Api call?, does it need Google maps (to run in the background also?), then when it gets the data it calculates pace and distance and transmits the data actively via Bluetooth to the watch face? How come it fails knowing that the Fitbit App always gets it right? I don't get why some transmission hiccups of GPS data (just display info) make the workout fail in giving out the map, why not rely totally on the Fitbit App (manual start activity that works 100%)?
- Is there a log or debug trace I can enable to see what connexion issues I'm having?
- When the workout jams (looses GPS signal and not able to connect again), the syncing fails after the session, I cannot sync the workout no matter what I try (disable - reenable bluetooth, Killapps restart apps), restart Luxe, the only thing that works is both restarting Luxe and restarting the phone.
So I guess the bluetooth connexion gets seriously jammed.
Still I can use the watch without the GPS, it is not a big deal, but I had other product brands that works flawlessly using the phone GPS, Google maps works fine, so I don't believe it's an issue from my phone (kept up to date with latest info and updates)...
I think the problems of GPS might be a Bluetooth problem, there might be too much data, my phone is not super powerful, buffers get flooded and eventually fail jamming the whole connexion until I restart everything...
If I was able to decrease GPS sampling rate down to every 10s or minutes I'm sure this will make it better putting less strain to the connexion. I'll be loosing accuracy on the maps, but I'll avoid the phone and Luxe to hang having to restart every time (that's the worst thing)
Thanks for your help
Update:
I went for a bike ride this morning, and I got it to work:
- Flush FitBit Cache (this I did not try before)
- restart Luxe
- restart phone (did not launch any app, although I believe FitBit App is running in the background)
- select activity>bike don't press start, observe GPS signal "connecting to GPS" blank white arrow, wait until the arrow is white (filled white) and says connected to GPS (by the way can this arrow made green? orange - green (and red if it fails?)
- press start, during all the ride I observed the arrow and I did not get any disconnection...
Making progress here!!!
I'll go for a longer ride this afternoon
Update 2
Back to square one, sometimes now it connects to GPS but does not record any motion pace is 0, it stays there, loses the signal, gets it back but the pace stays at 0.
This is quite frustrating, I'm going to return the strap if I cannot get it working.
