We’re excited to announce that a firmware update for Luxe will be available soon!  Some of you may already have this update available - if you installed it, let us know what you think!

If you don’t see the update yet, that’s expected. Check the Fitbit app in a few days, and you’ll see a message when you can install the update. We expect everyone to receive the update in the coming weeks. We appreciate your patience while we get this update to all of our customers.

Did you know that we gradually release our updates? We do this to make sure everything is working just right for you. Sometimes we find an issue and it might take a little longer than expected for everyone to get the update. While you might see suggestions on how to “force” an update, we ask that you don’t try any of these workarounds. Most of the time the update won’t be available and you can lose data or encounter other difficulties. The best way to get the update is to be patient and wait for the update banner to appear in the Fitbit app.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @StephLG and @SunsetRunner, Thank you for reporting that you were not able to update your Fitbit Luxe and that the firmware disappeared.

Right now, I'm trying to update my Luxe and it still says updating. What happened when the update didn't go through?

I will check if I'm able to update my tracker and let you know how it goes. I'll keep an eye on this and report it to our team.

Update: firmware update disappeared of my app too. I'm reporting this to our team.

Thank you for visiting the forums and I'll keep you updated.

@AndreaFitbit  what is the current version number and what is the latest number? Mine said update failed twice and then it vanished when I restarted the phone.

Same happened to me yesterday. Was really hopeful this update would fix the battery drain issues which are ongoing…

hoping the moderators will update us about the firmware update soon.

Thanks for the response Andrea. When I tried to do the update it said it couldn't connect to the luxe & gave me things to check like Bluetooth connection etc. I tried all of the suggestions but nothing worked, so then tried the restarts etc as mentioned in my first post & it disappeared. Did yours update successfully in the end?

Hi @Odyssey13! I have the version 20001.146.4. The system doesn't show that I need an update but I also saw it on the app.

I checked for updates and didn't find anything yet and haven't gotten response from our team. I'll keep checking later if someone replies and keep you updated.

Thanks for the feedback @Bubbletea2.

@StephLG, the same happened to me, it asked me to connect the phone to the Internet and I was next to the router... Thanks for mentioning the steps you have followed.

I'll keep you updated when I get more information. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

I never got the big pink banner, but under the account, their was a pin arrow to the right of the Luxe.

You could also go under help and tap, "check for updates"

Hi, @Rich_Laue & @Odyssey13, I got the update banner and the update seemed to go correctly until the end check when I got "Update failed" retry. I checked the version number on the Luxe & saw it was the new version but following "sync" the app reported the old version. I restarted my phone and now the app reports the new version so all looks good.

Cheers

My Luxe supposedly went through the update and failed.

However this failed update changed my clock face.

The What is New page doesn't mention the Luxe.

App says my Luxe needs an update, which seems to all ways fail. I'm at 1.146.4

@Gr4ndp4 so is 1.146.4 the new version?

The What's new page doesn't even mention the Luxe.

I've merged these two threads, as we're all Luxe users waiting for the latest firmware update. A moderator is going to give us information as it is available. Not sure what the correct version number is, but it seems like I'm using 58.20001.146.4 - just not sure it updated to that or it's what I had before the update vanished.

Hi @Rich_Laue Yes, the new version is 58.20001.146.4, the previous version had a lower number that I did not note.

Cheers

I agree @Odyssey13 my tracker clearly says I'm at what we believe is the updated version.

My clock face was also changed.

The tracker restarted with no errors.

Then after many syncs over the last 24+ hours, some time between 5pm and 11:40 tonight, my fitbit app has finally realized that the tracker has been updated and no longer is asking me to update.

Hi everyone. I wanted to let you know that I've merged your posts to this floated thread so we can all be on the same page as of regards to this new update for Fitbit Luxe.

Please bear in mind what we have shared with you here as we don't want you to force the update as the best way to get the update is to be patient and wait for the update banner to appear in the Fitbit app.

Once the update is released to 100% for everyone, we'll make sure to update this help article "What's changed in the latest Fitbit device update?" so you can know what has been fixed and implemented in this new update. Thanks for your patience and understanding!

Stay tuned!

Hello

This is my honest observation. I still think that Fitbit Luxe is a nice upgrade to Inspire 2, has a good potential and works more less OK for me…but with regards to firmware update:

1) even though the update is not released 100%, what is the point of the release without knowing what was updated?

2) How can I share my feedback if I don’t really know what is suppose to be better?

3) During update, i had similar issues as others, e.g. failed messages, so how can I know that my update performed fine when there is no official release note with official firmware number?

4) i see some users write about text size. I don’t see this changed at all. I don’t really remember if the text was smaller previously. For me the text size is not really an issue. However, wouldn’t it be better to just know what features were updated with perhaps some comparison old vs new?

5) I am waiting for SpO2- is this part of the update?

To summarize, i always thought that any firmware update release, even not 100%, must have a memo with all updated information. Without this, there is just a lot of confusion.

Imagine this:

Your paycheck was updated with new salary without any information. You ask your manager about it and he/she says: ohh, HR is updating all salary for position X but it was not yet 100% released. Please wait for more info later. Wouldn’t this be confusing?

I've read the forum and have tried everything recommended: connect to internet, connect to bluetooth, check battery as well as everything that was listed on this page: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2047.htm

Everytime the update quits within the first five minutes and I get this message: "Not Working?: keep your luxe nearby. Enable Bluetooh, Make sure you have an active internet connection, Make sure your battery is charged: Try Again."

It's been an endless loop of failures. However weirdly I have a version that reads: 58.20001.146.4 which I think is the updated version, but hasn't shown any change.

Could a mod check if this is correct and if so, if there is a danger in the version not seeming to fully update?

Thanks
