Luxe Firmware Update 194.61

7/13 Update: We’re continuing to roll out this firmware for the Luxe Firmware Update 194.61, and expect more customers are able to update their devices. This is a progressive rollout and all customers can expect to have it within a few weeks. We release updates in phases so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed. If you don't see the option to update, don't worry - you'll have it soon!


We’re excited to announce that a firmware update version 194.61 for Luxe will be available soon! Some of you might already have this update available. If you installed it, let us know what you think!

We release updates to customers in phases. If you don’t see it, check the Fitbit app in a few days, and you’ll see a message when you can install the update. We appreciate your patience while we get this update to all of our customers.

*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.

Finally got firmware update 194.61 but my sleep score and time asleep no longer on watch! How do I fix this?

The Fitbit Charge 5 went through similar trouble around the same time of the same month. With a similar update title. Have just now switched to a brand that starts with G. With the parent company's massive money they ought to be able to fix it, rather than sell you another one. Noticeably they aren't saying 'oops' or 'sorry'. Having a device fail so badly is disheartening. Don't take the discount to stay in the Fitbit fold. There is a reason.

I finally got the update, but it's 194.91, NOT 194.61...they must have found a breaking bug and stopped the update. I had no issues with my nearly 2 year old Fitbit luxe before this update, and I'm happy to say no issues for far after...everything seems normal after a few days. Again the update version is now 194.91. Seems transparency on this release has been very poor because of the issues, and even if you go to latest updates for your tracker, they reverted it to the previous version. Hope everyone is able to update to from 194.61 to 194.91...embarrassing that I'm having to tell you this and not FitBit

@Saganist  you are correct I just checked and my update is 194.91! Yet Fitbit isn’t even mentioning this. Plus my charge 5 is still at 188 and doesn’t update. So messed up!

I just checked and my luxe is 194.61but it’s saying my Fitbit is up to date! Any ideas how to get the 194.91?  My luxe is totally messed up! Ironically I just got a 10 year community badge!

Mine is a Luxe…never again will I buy a fitbit. This is only a hear old but it keeps saying I haven’t synched. I have plugged it in every 3rd day because the charge is almost up. Should t it update at that time? Nope. I am most interested in the sleep feature and when it works, its great. But it hardly works because it tells me I haven’t synched. The last time I had a sleep report was Nov 20th and how do I make it synch? I continuously charge it because the battery is low. Wouldnt you think it would synch then? Hopeless and frustrating.

Don't know what to tell you, I never got 194.61 thankfully. I went straight from 188.58 to 194.91. Best thing anyone can do for syncing or whatnot is reboot/shutdown you phone, and reboot your Fitbit. That's always helped me whenever I've had problems?

Update on my Luxe update. Lo and behold, this morning an option to update to 194.91 showed up on my Luxe. So I plugged it in and did it. Took about 20 minutes. Everything "seems" to be working, so far. We shall see. Even husband who has no use for any fitness trackers or fancy watches by fruit companies suggested that perhaps it was time to change to a fruit company (to match my phone and tablet). I LOVE the size of my Luxe and am reluctant to move to something larger, so I will continue to use the Luxe for as long as it works. NOTE: I have not transitioned my Fitbit account to my Google account. I expect that transfer will bring more issues so I'm holding off on that as long as I can.

I also love the size of the luxe! Up to installing the last update I’ve had no problems! Since then the charge only last about 36 hours and my luxe just shuts down for no apparent reason! I just hope they can fix this with the 194.91 update but not sure when it will be released!

The update I installed today was 194.91, so I managed to bypass or miss the .61 update that seems to have many issues.

Try rebooting the Luxe and your Phone...see if you can get the new update? Really sad we the end users, us, are providing tech support for a large corporation that clearly doesn't care about it's customers

Obviously I am hesitant to update the firmware on my Luxe since nothing really works out when these things happen.

After days of encountering the annoying "update firmware" pop-up in my app, I went to the first step - and there is no information stating what particular update it is.  There are two going out now, apparently.  How is a person supposed to know which it is?  There should be specific info about which update is altering my Luxe before it happens.

Of course, I cancelled the "update" after reading about the problems here and lack of info on the update page.

When will all the customers get the Luxe Firmware Update 194.61? We are now in December and I am still with the 188.58 version

@LizzyFitbit Does FitBit/Google plan on updating it's customers on what's going on with 194.61 vs. 194.91 and how to fix issues or do your customers have to provide their own support to each other in this thread? I don't have a problem but people here do, and frankly after seeing the lack of effort here, this 8 year FitBit customer is wondering if I'm going to start looking elsewhere instead of waiting for the Luxe 2.

I'm wondering the same thing. I only check the fitbit site when my tracker is acting up and I'm wondering if this update will be an improvement. Right now my Luxe has suddenly started needing to be charged every 2 days. And is shutting off when the battery isn't drained which I only find out when I plug it in to see the battery at 40%. I'm still on the old version.

The size of the device is the ONLY thing that has kept me from switching to the fruit company. I will note that it’s nice to have the battery status back on the app
