Luxe battery issues after the update

Is anyone else struggling with luxe since the latest update ? I don’t get a warning anymore my luxe is low in charge and I can’t get a full charge it seems to take forever now and runs out of charge extremely quick - it’s quite frustrating?

I have this problem too. It can say 4% critical battery; place it on the charger, jumps to 18%, 5 minutes on charger and says it is 95%. Take it off the charger and drops to 60%. Place it on my wrist, jumps back to 85%. Absolutely ridiculous. I've been with fitbit for well over 10 years. This last year has been the worst year ever with my fitbit devices. Gone from a great device and app to a horrible device and awful app.

@Pasidle29

I ended up buying a Garmin Vivofit 4. No heartrate monitor but it does do steps and time as you've mentioned. Tracks fitness and syncs to my health app and insurance. Simple timer and functions.

Plus, it's the only "smart"-ish watch on the market that still takes those button batteries. 1+ year battery life!

No more ridiculous charging cables and ports and plugging in every 1.5 days.

It doesn't do everything (heartrate would be nice) but it has been so very reliable by comparison of the frustration of my FitBit.

I was able to get a replacement as my luxe was not a year old. Maybe you can too. My new one works so far

I will have to check out the Vivofit. It’s great you can replace the battery and not have to deal with charging it.

My Luxe has given up telling the accurate time, even if I sync it to the app. Can no longer wear it so I am wearing one of my very old Timex watches after replacing the battery. Still works after all these years.

I have come to the conclusion that they are NOT going to do a **ahem** thing
about the problem.
Have NOT had a single reply to any of my requests

Mine has recently done this without the latest firmware update, but exactly the same problem with the battery. My Fitbit Luxe seems to be so erratic, I never know when the battery will suddenly die and then I charge it for 5 minutes and it says it's at 39% and then another 5 minutes later 4%. Then it takes forever to charge and then suddenly goes to 100%. I have now updated the firmware in the hope that the problem was due to the fact I hadn't updated it, but now it seems perhaps it's a common software issue after having the watch for about 18/19 months (bought Oct 2022). Not good at all.

I have just recharged it and exactly the same problem, as mentioned above 😡

Thank you for raising this issue, otherwise I would have thought it was just my Fitbit with a fault.

I contacted Fitbit Customer Service after leaving this comment above and they suggested a troubleshoot for my Luxe watch and so far the battery is now behaving itself. Whether this ends up being a short term fix or long term, time will tell.

I was told via live chat to press the button on the power cable (USB port end) 3 times with a second in-between each press and then wait 10 seconds, apparently this resets the Fitbit watch. Whether they have done anything their end who knows, but it's worth a try. If it works for just one other person then it has been worth my while posting this update. Good luck all 😊

Well that was short lived. My Luxe Fitbit didn't record my sleep last night and battery now waning again. Luckily it's within its two year warranty and I bought it off Amazon, so I'm in the process of being reimbursed!

I will not be buying another Fitbit.

Lol 😂 I must say I was waiting to see how long “Your Fix” was going to last.  Glad to hear that you’re able to get a refund though.  Good Luck to you!

Lol 😂🤣 Always the external optimist, obviously to my detriment at times 😁

I hope you find a new smart watch that is reliable and lasts longer than what seems to be an 18/19 month lifespan.

My quest is to do some much needed research on what is the best, but also an economical, smart watch. I've read pros and cons on most of them, but will be in no rush. I might have to resort to my dress watch for now.

Thank you for your support. Take care  😊

Mine ha started to do the same since the google message or the update. Not sure what started it but from being a Fitbit user for 4 years, this being my second one , it has become totally unreliable shutting off without notice and yet showing high % battery life when plugged in. Is it because the life expectancy is only 18 months or is it because of the google takeover?

If Google is running more  background features to collect data for themselves it will drain battery. This is an excuse. Every update since August drains battery and turns on features that were turned off before the update. Calling Fitbit Help give you the reset watch option to no avail.

Totally agree. Calling when watch was in warranty was no help, only option was turn off features and reset watch to no avail. Continually gets worse. What is Google now running in the background to drain watch?

Amazon purchase in warranty and work through of all the trouble shooting did get me a replacement and so far 2 months or so in, my new one works. Prob my last Fitbit given how much google is screwing with fitbits original awesomeness though.

Well, I thought I had this stupid issue figured out but I guess not.  I've had almost a month (one whole month) without it dying when attached to the charger.  Miracle!   I've been making sure I don't let it go below 80% before charging the battery.   Today I saw it was 83% so figured I would slap it on that charger and it showed charging and then suddenly showed the clock face and BAM.   It was no longer responding.    I took it off and put it back on but nope.  No good.

So, I thought I had this all figured out but apparently I just got lucky for a month.   Oh well.   Time to move on from Fitbit.   I've had one in some form or another for many years now but it seems they only want to support the newer products which is just not cool.

Ugh I thought someone had figured out a fix for this issue. Mine will say it's charged to like 90 percent and then a day later it will be 4%. I will put it on the charger and it will immediately go up to 70%. My app and luxe never match battery percentage and I am getting so frustrated. I can't know if my battery is going to last the day or not and I'm not even doing anything wild with it other than step tracking and checking the time and date! I swear, none of my fitbits have ever lasted more than a year because something like this happens or the screen breaks all of a sudden.

I'm having the same problems.
