Luxe battery issues whilst failing to record steps or heart beat

This morning - my battery went from 99% to 64% in a couple of hours. During which time, my heart rate and steps were not recorded.  I tried to charge a couple of times and had a battery error (Battery Check - battery is not changing error, which I've been getting on and off for a few days - take the fitbit off/on charge, clean it, reboot, and eventually it charges enough - I'm sure it always fails when almost full).

Had a long chat with Roland in support.   He seems to think the issue is syncing (not the lack of data to sync).

Is anyone else having trouble with data being recorded on their fitbit?  or failing to record (whilst draining the battery).   How many times a day should I reboot?

This is my second Luxe and I've had it around 2 weeks.  My first one the screen broke after 5 or 6 weeks.

thanks to Mylo (a fitbit support suppervisor) - I have this solution (working so far & so far drops single digit battery per day and not had any instance of battery failing to charge or not recording HR or steps.  It might be worth sharing, in case others find it helpful) -

This procedure deletes any stored data, which includes all data that hasn't synced to your Fitbit account and your alarms, goals, notifications, music, and everything that is stored on it. After a Clear User Data you must set up your watch again.

To do this process:

  • Swipe down from the clock screen to find the Settings app.
  • Open the Settings app, then Device Info, then Clear User Data.
  • Swipe up, then press Hold 3 Sec for 3 seconds and release.
  • When you see the Fitbit logo and Luxe vibrates, your data is erased.

After that, to setup your Fitbit again:

  • With your Fitbit device nearby, in the Fitbit app on your phone, tap the Today tab (the one where you see the daily stats like steps), then your profile picture/gear icon in the upper left corner
  • Tap Set Up a Device.
  • Choose the right model for your Fitbit device and follow the on-screen instructions to continue.

Mine did this today. Soooo frustrating!!! I have to charge it every day. Today it was 99%, and went to 25%. No steps record except for one hour. Sigh.
