Luxe clock faces design issues

Hello, I have been cycling through most of the clock faces and none fill the bill. They are not bad but not good enough to my liking. Here are some remarks:

- Some of the designs that have peripheral markers tend to reveal the smallness of the screen when compared to the watch case, the screen is very tiny compared to the surface of the total area, this is probably a choice from Fitbit to have more battery vs. a larger screen.

- The only clock faces that have the hours and minutes + data cover most of the screen are the more readable, the default Aura, Playfull (but not enough screens only shows heart, split, regular, simpler, overlap and Magazine. On these last ones it's a pity that the hours first digit is fainter than the rest?

I would suggest make the hours brighter bigger and the minutes smaller but same brightness?

- One design I like best is Big Time but here again the hours is fainter than the minutes, can you make it even as bright (not very readable in daylight). the Split should be filled up for readability.

- The Regular is very nice and bold but again the first digit of the hours is too faint, I'm not crazy about the colour it might be for the golden bracelet you provide as option.

One design request would be to have bigger fonts for the data you access via tapping the screen. Barely readable for most screens except IceCream and Playfull

Best regards

Seriously. The design choices on these is embarrassing. Luckily I find Simpler acceptable, but even it is plagued by the issues you raise as well as an odd faint center.

The rest are a mix of poor design choices and atrocious colors. Also, what is the obsession with putting graphics behind the text, thus reducing the already challenging readability.

Fitbit, get some better designers on this asap!

My wife is interested in the Luxe. She wants to be able to see on the clock face, the time, heart rate and steps (without having to tap the face). Is there a clock face that does this? She currently has this on the Charge 3 which is beginning to show some wear (screen starting to get lines through it).

Best Answer

No, not that I'm aware of. You can get time with steps or heart rate, but you can't see the other (or additional data) without tapping.

If functionality is your concern, go with the Charge 4. I'd only recommend the Luxe if you're prioritizing fit.

It's great to see you in the Fitbit Community, @pritchett4.

Currently, the Fitbit Luxe will turn on each time you turn your wrist towards you to show one of the stats you mentioned. To see a different stat, it is necessary tapping the screen.

To resolve the issue with your Fitbit Charge 3, please restart your Tracker by following these instructions.

In addition, you can perform a long restart:

  1. Connect the device to the charging cable.
  2. While the device is plugged into the charging cable, press and hold the button down for 15 seconds.
  3. The device turns on and shows a battery icon. Two vibrations occur: first a short vibration, then a medium vibration.
  4. The device turns off.
  5. The device turns on and shows a progress bar and short vibrations occur. The progress bar completes. Note: A total of 7 short vibrations occur.
  6. Remove the device from the charging cable. The device shuts down.
  7. Important: Plug the device into the charging cable again

Whether you have followed the steps mentioned above without luck, please try to change your Tracker's clock face.

Our team is constantly working...

It would be a 2 hour job for one professional to create a new clock face with good info in it.

2 days to create a full collection to remedy what many people have expressed is the main detractor of this model.

And what's up with the colors. I get it, you liked turquoise and orange. A lot! Can we get some more variety please!

You can turn the Luxe Face on by simply rotating or lifting up the arm, no tapping is needed.

Just got new luxe, wish I had known 🙄.. the faces are horrible. I want plain with no color that displays all at once! Like my old inspire HR! What a disappointment

I was prepared to go from an Inspire 2 to a Luxe if it would give me a face with stats a little bit larger. Unfortunately, what I see here confirms that there is no interest in providing a clock face with readable info. Might as well as have no screen and longer charge interval.

If there is a hardware reason why a face cannot be developed with larger heart rate number, just tell us so we do not waste time coming back to these forums to be disappointed.

Agreed.

The clock face designs on the Luxe are simply beyond awful and none offers all the fitness stats on one screen. I have had virtually every Fitbit product & at least the Sense / Versa offer 3rd party clock faces to get around the pretty awful stock ones.

Historically, the Fitbit Charge and Inspire line always had a Stats clock face which would offer the 4 main fitness metrics on the screen at once for those who use these primarily as a fitness tracker & see how they’re doing during the day. The Fitbit Charge 5 dropped this for some awful designs and you also have to tap every clock face to cycle fitness metrics. The Luxe is the same, a mishmash of truly third rate designs seemingly made by someone literally out of first year of a design course. Other than Simpler & Glam, they’re an assortment of poor design choice, bad colour & contrast choices and abandoning those who simply want to see fitness metrics at a glance. Why not include the stats clock face you offer on the Charge 3,4 and Inspire HR & 2? Yes, the luxe has a small screen but it was never a major problem on the Inspire displaying the stats clockface.

I would really like to find a fitness tracker with the time, date, day, steps & heart rate on the screen without tapping.  I don't think Luxe offers this even after the latest update.  Does Charge 5 have the same problem?
