Luxe has stopped working

My fitbit won't charge. An x in a red circle comes on the screen a few minutes after I try to charge it. The original charger wire broke so I bought a new one from Walmart.

My watch is unable to update now and therefore I have been unable to use it at all for more than a year. I have bought a new phone in that time.

Any suggestions?

@Eliz007 can you please clarify which Fitbit device you have? There is no "Fitbit Luxe 5". Do you perhaps have a Charge 5?

Hi
I called customer service at fitbit and they could do nothing to help with my problem. They only offered a discount on a new one which I will never do as this one should be able to be repaired.
It cannot complete updates and there is a X in a red circle whilst charging. Is that because I am not using the original charger? If I have a fitbit charger can I factory reset from that to enable the watch ro work.
The problem was definitely not solved by fitbit customer service.
