Luxe is tracking my heart rate too high

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have been getting heart rate spikes on my Luxe over the last week. If I check my pulse immediately, it is obviously incorrect (129 when standing in the kitchen!). If I time it over 1 minute the reading has usually returned to a correct reading. As a result I am getting intense activity recorded when not exercising. Also makes any record of my normal exercise unreliable. This is scary and annoying. Any ideas?

Hi there, @BarbDM. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Luxe.

Several factors can affect heart rate, including air temperature, stress level, alcohol or caffeine intake, immune response to illness, and medication use (source).

Review our tips in How do I improve the accuracy of a heart-rate reading?

For any concerns about your heart-rate data, contact your physician.

Nevertheless, I'd recommend resetting the heart rate settings. To do so, please follow the steps below:

  • Switch the Heart Rate settings from On to Off and manually sync your watch. To switch the heart rate settings on your Luxe, from the main screen of your Fitbit device, open the Settings app > Heart Rate > tap to turn the setting OFF.
  • Once it's done, manually sync your Luxe. To do so, open the Fitbit app, tap on the Account icon, tap on your Luxe's image and tap on "Sync Now"
  • Next, switch it from Off to On and manually sync your Luxe once again.
  • Once it's done, restart your Luxe.
  • Next, confirm that your tracker is snug on your wrist (the lights shouldn't be visible). We also recommend when you're not exercising, wear the tracker just above the wrist bone.

Thank you for your help. I had reviewed the tips and factors affecting heart rate but none of those would have been enough to send HR up 40 bpm. However I reset the HR and although there have been a couple of minor spikes, there has been nothing like I was getting before and if the problem reoccurs I will reset again. I did read of someone with a Fitbit Charge with the same problem. Much happier now.!

@BarbDM I'm glad to hear you've seen an improvement on your Luxe heart rate readings. Nevertheless, I'd recommend trying all the steps I suggested above in the order listed.

I'll be around if you need further assistance.
