Luxe is turning off randomly

For the past few weeks, my Luxe has started to power off when I receive a notification with several "buzzes," such as an incoming phone call or when I hit my step goal. It can also happen seemingly randomly and I've started carrying a portable charger with me on my walks so I won't "lose" steps if it decides to power off. If I haven't kept my phone updated with my steps, it will often revert back to an earlier step count when I do power it back on - very frustrating. In addition, when I restart it after a power outage, it sometimes is not giving the right time.

Well....Woo hoo!!!  After several weeks of Fit Bit Shutting Off, Today while exercising (6 mile walk), my Luxe STAYED ON the entire time.   Couple days ago  I had an update to my fit bit, so maybe that helped.  Fingers are crossed the issue is fixed.  I'll know tomorrow when I do a 10 miler.

I never got my Luxe problem resolved. It went on for way too long and my
husband got tired of hearing me whine about it, so he bought me a Fitbit
Inspire 3 for my birthday during Black Friday sales. I normally would not
reward a company with such a crappy product by giving them more business.
So far the Inspire is working, but so did the Luxe for a year. I am
keeping my fingers crossed that Fitbit has found and fixed any problems
with this device before releasing for sale.

Ok...three (3) days in a row that my Luxe remained on and all stats are correct too.  Over 3 days I've walked 22 miles my Fit Bit DID NOT SHUT OFF.   Seems for now that the recent update I did last week worked.

I’m glad it worked for you. I did the update but my Luxe shuts down still several times per day! 🤬

Jems68.....Don't know if this help my case, but I can also say I did kinda of reset a couple things on my Fitbit and Phone.  On Fitbit I merely turned off notifications and then turned it back on coupled w/ restarting the fitbit.   On my cell phone, I did the same w/ Fitbit notifications but also turned off Fitbit blue tooth access and then turned it back on.

As none of us should have to go through this after purchasing their products, Hopefully Fitbit can get it together so we are working again

Ok Jems68.....I'm back in the same boat with you and many others.  This is Day #4 and this morning at 3.52 miles my Fitbit turned off.  Yep the fingers crossed only worked for 3 days.   So NOPE it has not been fixed, which is what you said it hadn't worked for you.

Thanks for the update. This is ridiculous we are having to put up with this. Fitbit needs to come up with a real fix for this!

I have been experiencing the same behavior since December 4. A few weeks before that the battery charge went from lasting 4 or 5 days to barely one day. Yesterday it powered off 6 times. I have tried all the suggestions and none have worked. It's now pretty much a useless piece of jewelry. I've had it for just over 2 years.

I downloaded the new firmware 2 days ago too. My Fitbit worked for a day and a half without shutting off after an alarm went off or a flurry of notification buzzes. Until it did.

Now it’s back to not only shutting off during buzzes but randomly in the night so my sleep data is inaccurate.

Hope it worked for you after the firmware update

Oh my goodness.  Randomly shutting off is even crazier!!!!  Thus far mine only shuts off during work-outs.   So sad that shut-offs only during workouts sounds better than random.   We shouldn't have any shut-offs at all.  And we know FITBIT folks/reps are reading these post, but yet say nothing

My husband bought me an inspire 3 for my birthday, so I bailed on the
Luxe. He got tired of listening to me whine about the Luxe. I just hope
they stay on top of the software on the Inspire 3 so I don't eventually
have the same problem with it.

I will never buy another FitBit product! I shouldn’t have had to replace mine when it is less than 2 years old! Fitbit needs to find an actual fit for this faulty product.

No. Still turning off. I have to have it docked when I go from sleep to
awake mode or it will turn off.

Agreed! My husband bought me an Inspire 3 for my birthday during Black
Friday sales. It pains me to purchase from a company that has such poor
product support, I live in constant fear that the Inspire 3 will also
develop unresolvable problems and end up in a drawer with my Luxe. I loved
my Fitbit One, but after running it through the wash, losing it, finding it
months later dead, recharging it and continuing to use it with no problems,
I finally lost it for good. The One was a good product. The Luxe is a
lemon.

A week ago I turned off the 'Set Automatically' time zone setting in the Fitbit app. Since then, it has not powered off between charges. 🙂

It still only holds a charge for about a day, but at least it's not randomly turning off.

I'm still having this issue.

Here is all I've tried:

  • Switched clock faces
  • Reset user data
  • Three button press on charging cable device reset
  • Firmware update to 194.91
  • Drained battery to 0% as best I could with it shutting off on its own before it could get to zero—and left it on the charger for a full day.

It is still shutting off randomly and especially during alarms. Pre-set alarms go off, and I see the display fade away and shut off. I can't even set an alarm without watching the screen fade away.

Talked to chat support again they gave up and sent me to the warranty department. Email came in and since it's out of warranty, they could only offer me a discount on a new device. Talked to chat support again to hopefully get a different rep to see what else they can offer me aside from a new device that may possibly have the same issue. So we'll see?

FitSquish ....man oh man you tried and went beyond typical.   Yes this Fitbit issue is so bad.  Seems, from reading on the dashboard, even switching it over to a google account has many issues too.   Fitbit will continue losing valued customers

I'm having the same issues and it started after a software update, so I believe it is not the actual fitbit having issues. I hope they are seeing these comments and working on another update to remove whatever bug they introduced with the recent update.

My Luxe started shutting down randomly, not responding to taps and not holding a charge about 3 months ago. It’s not even 2 years old. It’s a pretty expensive tracker to be this crappy. I feel like Fitbit knows it’s junk yet they keep selling them. I’m very frustrated with mine.
