Luxe isn't tracking my sleep times accurately

i have a new luxe, my first fitbit. the sleeps stats only record after i get up to go to the toilet in the middle of the night, ie, last night i was asleep by 11, got up to pee at 3 and sleep stats recorded 3am till i woke. this has happened every night. is this the way it’s supposed to work? i’m hoping not.
