If this question has been asked before, my apologies. My searches only came up with complaints about overcounting steps, in which I don't seem to be having a problem with. I've had my Luxe since March of last year, but all of the sudden a few weeks ago it started severely overcounting my activity minutes. Double and triple the amount of activity minutes. Yesterday I worked out for about 40 minutes and my Fitbit gave me 88 activity minutes for that. I took the dog for a 20 minute walk later in the evening. Other than that I was mostly hanging around the house as I homeschool my kids. By then end of the day I ended up with almost 200 activity minutes. As nice as that sounds, its way off. Last night I was on the couch, watching a movie, and per my Luxe my resting heart rate was hovering at around 118 bpm. Typically I'm in the 55 to 60 bpm. I was not stressed or anxious and I'm not sick. It definitely was not that high.
I'm a female, 43, in relatively decent shape. I've been routinely working out for years, and this is my third Fitbit. I've never had this happen. I'm aware of what my typical day looks like as far as activity minutes and calories burned. All of these extra activity minutes affecting the amount of calories it thinks I'm burning. I've tried restarting my fitbit numerous times but it's still overcounting. Any suggestions before I toss it?

Hi, @tdbates, welcome to the community, you may find this article of interest What are Active Zone Minutes or active minutes on my Fitbit device? You will note the AZM is a function of HR and HR zones. How do I track my heart rate with my Fitbit device? provides detail.
I hope this helps but if you are still stuck please post here again.
Cheers

I think my heart rate is also off. I'm fairly healthy. My resting heart rate bpm is not the 118 that my Fitbit was showing last night while watching a movie on the couch.

This looks like almost the same post as by @tdbates . Same person, or different people with identical workouts?
First, you would have to clarify "activity minutes". There are "Active minutes" and "Zone Minutes", or if you are looking at some other exercise charts you might see time excercising and think of that as activity minutes. Exactly where are you seeing these minutes?

It's giving me activity minutes for walking downstairs I'm the morning to make my coffee, ot walking back upstairs. Or walking through a grocery store to pick up a few things. This never used to happen.
