Luxe screen going black

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My luxe has recently started going to a black screen even when there is still plenty of battery left the only way I can get it to come back on and start working again it's too attach it to the charger then the logo comes up and it's fine again. Everything else is functioning properly. Has anyone else had this problem ? Can this one be saved ?  Do I just get a new one ?

No, I will be looking at other devices. This is their issue with the device and should have offered way more to make it right with this many customers having the same issue.

this has been happening since 2018 says it’s charged but when u take it off the charger no response and 0% battery put it back on even tho it says it was 98% it shows 1 basically this happens ALOT. and Fitbit is ignoring safe to say I might be getting a Apple Watch or another Fitbit ( they are just so nice even tho they only last 2 yrs💔)

I just ordered a Garmin.  I was thinking about buying another fitbit but since it's seems it has been a known problem for years and they didn't correct it, I will change for a different brand.

Exactly what I am experiencing. Very frustrating. I just took out some of my old regular watches to use again! May be I’ll just depend on my phone to capture my steps!

I don't have experience with any Apple products so I can't speak to them. However, my trusty Fitbit Charge 2 still tracks reliably, it just doesn't show the time when I lift my wrist to check it, and it doesn't have some of the features the Luxe had. I'm not enjoying the new interface on the Fitbit site. I liked how the graphics were on the previous version which showed sleep progress with better visuals. Anyway, I too, have ordered another fitness brand product as we are not getting the results we had hoped for from Fitbit.

I’m sure I’ll be leaving Fitbit too . I’ll see how this refurbished luxe goes . I’ve looked online - and can’t figure which type to get .I agree I prefer the old interface . Good luck with your new one !!!

I feel the same but reading all these comments is putting me off Fitbit as a company, whatever the model.
however I use iPhone & I’ve been told that unless I use Apple Watch (too expensive & too big for my small wrist; they don’t do any slim versions) Fitbit works with Apple best.  That’s my trouble.  I’m looking at Charge 6 which doesn’t look as elegant as Luxe but seems to do same things.  Has anyone experienced similar black screen problems with charge 6 ?

Also please advise if anyone has used the Garmin Vivosmart5.   I am confused between these 2 models but would like to decide soon.  Please help.

Throw my wife in with this issue. It does last 4-5 days before black screen (basically powers down). Then when attach to charger, you get startup logo, charge instantly says either 36 or 37%.  It's wasting 1/3 of the battery!  It's been doing this for a month.

@tcat007   that's the first "stage".  At some point you will attach it to the charger and it will say 86% or something similar, then will charge for a short period of time and show 100% but then she will wear it and it will die pretty soon.

I have started experiencing issues with Luxe since around the beginning of November. It is mostly in the morning and almost every morning. I have my morning alarm on my watch, no ring but just on vibrate. Battery will be good. When my alarm starts, it will vibrate two or three times and then power off. I would have to charge it in order to wake it up. It will then have the time that it powered off and will take a bit to show the correct time/battery amount. There was one time that it randomly turned off on it own on my morning commute to work. I have restarted the watch multiple times. I have forced close the app and deleted then readd my morning alarm. I am coming up to my 2 years with this watch and I feel like it is FitBit's way to force us to buy a new watch.. it is very aggravating and has really changed my opinion on FitBit.

I'm sorry you've experienced pretty much the same thing I have. How to fix
rather than replace is the environmental way to go but without the product
support, I don't know what to do.

I'm having the same issues as everyone else (black screen despite having charge, needing to put the luxe on charge to get the display back, battery supposedly dying but showing 90% immediately when put on charge then dropping to a critical 2%, incorrect time, loss of tracking, need I go on...). Super annoying last night,  My Luxe thought I went to sleep at 7 pm and woke up at 2.30 am. Scored me a 'good' too 😂

Super annoying as the watch physically is in great shape. I too don't want to waste something that can be saved. I've a drawer of spare straps in multiple colours too. Come on Fitbit, are our Luxe devices past saving or is this a temporary glitch with an imminent fix?

well, I finally decided to try another Fitbit  tracker as they offered 35% off a new device. That made it worth trying another FITBIT.  I wanted a similar tracker to the LUXE.   I applied to the Inspire 3.  So far I am very pleased.  Screen is a tad bigger, (works for me), battery charging super fast, battery life great.  Loses about 50% in a week. It's the perfect size and is comfortable. I decided not to go to another brand - yet. Some other watches and trackers are too big, too complicated (for me) and expensive. We'll see how this one works out.

Good for you. I do hope it works out for you.
I have a Garmin cycling computer already so having all on one system is
better for me anyway.
Now, what to do with my first fit bit, my trusty Charge 2? It doesn't have
the features the newer devices have. It also has a cracked screen and
doesn't show the time when raising my arm. But it tracks what it's supposed
to track.

Live n learn.

Hi everyone, and a warm welcome to our new members.

Thanks for letting me know about your Luxe and the steps that you've tried. I'm sorry that you've gone through this experience. For the ones that haven't done so, I'd recommend changing the clock face and performing a restart as these steps have worked for other members.

On the other hand, if you've tried those steps but the issue persists, please get in touch with our Support team. I'm sure they'll further investigate your case and evaluate the best option for you. To get connected with them via chat or phone, just click here.

Yesterday I was on my daily walk, got home and I had the black,  Non-responsive screen. Put it on the charger- made a note of the current time on the Fitbit device (since that was when it stopped updating anything) as well as the real current time when I got home. manually Added a walk that started at the time on Fitbit device and ended at the time I arrived home from my walk. Forgot about the Fitbit until it was time for bed, took it off the charger & as I was putting the Fitbit on my wrist, it buzzed and guess what - another  black non-responsive screen. Put it on the charger to bring it back to life, then put it back on my wrist.

so I seem to get the black non-responsive screen when I reach my daily step goal. The manually added walk resulted in my reaching the step goal so Fitbit device attempted to let me know that.

I decided to try and turn off notifications for step goal to see if that will help. I did a search & found this:

https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Charge-6/Vibration-alerts-how-to-disable/td-p/5589647

yes it was for the charge 6, but it did give the steps to turn off notifications.
so I turned off my step notification and am hoping that will resolve my issues!

while I like the step notification, I’d rather have an always responsive Fitbit.
