Luxe stopped recording sleep

  • Can't say that u am happy with this Luxe. Stopped recording my sleep over 2 weeks ago and can't seem to reset it. The battery doesn't last long.  Updated it this morning and now it tells me I have over 15k steps so far today - NOT! I must have done a lot of sleep walking last nite! Give me back my Alta! Definitely not worth the money.

My Luxe reports sleep, but only in a simplified form; it stopped reporting sleep "stages" on 2/21/22...and no sleep score, though I've made no changes in my sleep habits. It also tends to break up the sleep period occasionally : IE, 2 hours, 5 hours...

The Luxe also stopped reporting heart rate, and the resting heart rate is stuck on 68 (hasn't changed in a week). Tried all the recommendations: full charge; reset; tightened the band in the proper position, checked the settings, etc.

I called customer service who checked the settings and reset the watch again...told me to see what happened that night. No change...still doesn't report sleep stages or heart rate.  For now it's a nice time piece but useless for tracking sleep or heart rate.

This is an update to my earlier comment about not seeing sleep stages or heart rate: finally it's working again...at least last night!
I  reset and then checked the settings again. Also did something I hadn't before: deleted and reloaded the fitbit app on my Iphone - cleaned the back of Luxe (the contacts side) with rubbing alcohol - and turned the heart rate setting off...then on again. Apparently one ( or maybe all) those actions scared it into doing its job correctly!

Note: in talking to Customer Support, in retrospect I should have made clear which device I was using to check settings, as I have the app on my Iphone, my Ipad, and my PC. And of course the "settings" on the Luxe itself. They are not all the same in their presentation of info. IE,  "advanced" settings are on the PC but not the Ipad or Iphone.

Hoped to see the sleep stages again for last night, but was unable to even get Luxe to sync this morning (Mar 4, 2022) .

Lots of machinations later (restart, shut Bluetooth off/on, delete from Bluetooth, attempt to re-pair, usb taps, delete from account, reload fitbit app (though it was already up to date), attempt to add back to my account...I only finally got it to pair with my Iphone 8 and sync after turning off Bluetooth on my old mini 2 Ipad.

So now it looks like Luxe working again - heart rate included - but it failed to record any sleep stats for Mar 4..or at least it's not reporting it on the app.

We'll give it another try tonight...but this is getting ridiculous. I got this Luxe in Sept 2021 and it worked just fine until Feb 21, 2022...

My Luxe has never recorded sleep accurately.  Since day 1.  I contacted support and tried the recommended tweaks, but still doesnt work. I get readings of 54 minutes of sleep, when I know **ahem** well I went to bed at 8:30pm and woke at 5 am.  I'm not expecting perfection, but I'm pretty sure I actually slept more than 54 minutes.  I've given up on this feature and disapointed.

Hello everybody, thank you for visiting the Fitbit Community.

@Jere100 If your Fitbit Luxe is not recording your sleep stages, please visit this article, open the menu "Why don't I see sleep stages today?" and follow the instructions. In addition, you can restart your Tracker by following these steps.

@Chew54 @AnnTH Thank you for your comments.

@jrawman If you haven't done so, please set your Luxe to track sleep in a sensitive mode. For information about how this setting works, please visit this article and open the menu "What's the difference between the normal and sensitive sleep setting?".

If necessary, you can edit your sleep logs. For instructions, please visit this article and open the menu "How do I edit or delete sleep logs in the Fitbit app?".

Have a nice day.

I decided to stop using the device. I don’t like having to tell the manufacturer the exact location (Why is this required..??) in addition to the health information. And shouldn’t the manufacturer pay for this information for me, and not mine for them?

This is very normal, the device is just so bad. The device is just so bad. I measured sleep for 2 weeks, and no more after that.

I’ve had my LUXE up and running for 10 days now.  It worked until Wednesday 19th.  Thursday and Friday it recorded sleep for 3 1/2 hours. And I got no sleep reading last night (Friday).  It doesn’t start recording steps until I’ve been up for over an hour.   I am returning it.  My Inspire has worked for three years with no problem.

I took mine to the scrap yard. I don't want to recycle a bad product.

I really don’t think it’s the product. The day the firmware was updated is when mine stopped working. It was fine until then.
