Luxe stopped working a little over a year

My Luxe battery is defective after only having it for a little over a year.  I've been in touch with customer service and was told there is nothing they can do because it's after the year warranty.  Looking at the entries in this community it looks like this happens often.  Fitbit offered a 35% discount on a new watch but there's no point in buying something that will only last for a short while.  I'll never buy another Fitbit .  They need to work on design and quality.
