Did you mean:

Luxe won't track my distance nor steps accurately

My husband and I go on regular walks together and I’ve been noticing my mileage is way off. We even drove the routes to see if it was his fit bit or mine. His watch will read 1.9 miles (which is accurate) and mine will read 1 or sometimes less. Our step count will be off but only by a few hundred steps, not by half like the mileage.  I’ve measured my stride and adjusted my settings accordingly but still no change.

Hi there, @Scruffylookin66. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the inconvenience with your Luxe and taking the time to troubleshoot it before reaching out.

As a first approach, I'd recommend trying the following (with the purpose of resetting your Luxe internally):

  • Sync your Luxe
  • Unpair your Luxe from your phone's Bluetooth and Fitbit app.
  • Restart your Luxe.
  • Set up your Charge 5.
  • Make sure to enter your personal data correctly.

As you already know, Fitbit devices use the formula below to calculate distance. Your stride length is determined by your height and sex. Steps x Stride Length = Distance Traveled

Please note when you track an activity with GPS, your device calculates your distance using GPS data rather than steps. If you begin moving before you get a GPS signal, your device calculates distance using your steps until GPS connects.

To update your stride length, track a run with GPS or measure your stride length manually. For more information, see Can I change my stride length in my Fitbit account?

For more information about GPS, see How do I use GPS on my Fitbit device?
