Luxe won't track my steps accurately

Hi, I’ve been searching the forums to see if anyone has any advice -I’m sorry if I missed something. I am noticing that the luxe isn’t counting all my steps- seems like only a fraction of them. For example, I tried walking 100 steps and counted them all and it tracked 65 steps. I’m on my feet almost all day but not hitting my step goal and it’s really frustrating and discouraging. I stopped wearing the last tracker I had because I don’t want to be walking around thinking about how much I’m swinging my arm or not. Any tips?

Hi there, @vhs2022. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Luxe. I understand where your concern is coming from and how you must be feeling.

Fitbit trackers record your data based on your personal information (age, gender, weight and height). Another thing that you should take into consideration is that your Fitbit device counts steps when you are pushing a stroller or a shopping cart, but because your hands are not moving your step count may be lower than usual during this activity.

If you feel that your step count and distance are inaccurate, confirm the following are correct in the Fitbit app:

Since we use height to estimate your walking and running stride lengths, you may want to measure and manually adjust these values if your legs are longer or shorter than average. For more information, see How does my Fitbit device calculate my daily activity?

Sometimes, when you start walking, your steps may not update on your device right away. After about 10-15 continuous steps, you'll notice the steps catch up and start updating in real time with each step you take. For more information, see: How accurate are Fitbit devices?
