My friend and I bought Lux fitbits we are training for a 26km walk. We do exactly the same walk stride for stride and her Fitbit has at least 3000 more steps and approx 3km more then mine when we should be the same. Expected a few hundreds steps out not thousands. Any help / advice ? We are not sure whose is actuate hers or mine ?

@Libstar This is really hard to determine. Is she shorter than you are? Maybe she moves her arm more during her walks. No one is going to have the exact same amount of steps for the same walk due to lots of different factors. If the distance is off, it's possible stride length in her settings is not correct and she would have to go into the Fitbit app on her phone and update the stride length. Same thing could be said of your stride length in the app.

Thanks Heather for responding I actually took my Fitbit back and got a new one. Only had it 6 weeks but something was wrong with the KM tracking.
Steps I understand that they can be different but not the distance. I walked on Monday and I know it was at least 5km as I’ve done that work many times and my Fitbit said I’d walked 2.6km.
Anyway new one seems to be working a lot better.

@Libstar - if you use connected gps for the walk (have to take your phone with you Md start a walking activity from the watch) the distance should be more accurate. If you are relying on auto-detect to log the walk your stride length will be used. Default stride length is based on your height. If that is accurate the next step would be to adjust the stride length as @Heather-S suggested
