All my Salsa dancing activities are marked as swimming activity in fitbit. The app still adds steps for that activity though!

Hello @mns2237 and welcome to the Community.  Fitbit calls its auto recognition feature SmartTrack.  Pretty smart, but not perfect.  Even though your Fitbit registers those steps, you might not be getting the distance added to your total daily distance.  Fitbit only includes step based distance to your daily distance.  Swim and Bike distance aren't included.

The accelerometer collects and analyzes motion patterns.  I can see why it might register your dancing as swimming.  Please do the following for more accurate activity tracking.  Tap on your profile picture > swipe up to Activity & Wellness > Exercise > Swimming > toggle auto recognize to off.  Your Luxe might recognize it as either Sport or Aerobic Workout.

Take a look at the Fitbit help site for further assistance and information.
