Question about start sleep now

Hi community and thank you for help in the past.  I am a terrible sleeper so many nights my fitbit can't capture sleep info.  I started using begin sleep now so here is my question...I set begin sleep now last night when I went to bed but around 330 I went to the kitchen for a drink.  This morning it only shows data from that time.  Should I have clicked "I am awake" when I got up then reset it again when I went back to bed?  For the last 3 hours it did show sleep stages.  Thank you!

Theoretically, if you have the heart rate monitor on, you don't need to use the "Start Sleep Now" function.  That will automatically turn on once you've been asleep for a few hours (I think 3 hours).  That's why you got the Sleep Stages: if you had selected the "Start Sleep Now" function, you wouldn't get those.  You can, however edit your sleep log to have it more accurately reflected in your records.
