Walks are being auto-tracked as runs

I've had my Fitbit Luxe for about ten days, and every time I go for a walk (at a moderate pace), it keeps mistakenly thinking I'm running and auto-tracking it as a run. How can I calibrate this so that it's more accurate?

2 options:

  1. What I would recommend is using the Exercise App on your Luxe and choosing Walk before you begin to be sure.
  2. Other option which I'm not sure would work, but you could try if you never Run, is to disable Run as an auto-recognized option.  I'm not sure if that would then go to Walk, or not get recognized as any exercise.  But the way to do it would be from phone app: Days of Exercise tile > gear icon near top right show you auto-recognized activities > tap Run and turn off auto-recognize via slider near top.

Otherwise, there is no other way to adjust/calbrate the auto-recognize function.

Thanks. The thing is, I do also run and want Fitbit to track my runs. But I don't want it to track it every time I go for a walk. I've already disabled walking under auto-recognize, but disabling runs would prevent that feature from working when I'm actually running. Not really sure how else to edit it. I never had this problem with my Alta.

Don't see how disabling Walk would help if you want it to auto-recognize walks.

I'm not trying to get it to auto-recognize walks! I'm trying to get it to stop falsely auto-recognizing runs every time I'm just walking!

Sorry, I just figured if it was recognized as a walk, then it wouldn't be recognized as a run. But I guess you don't want it recognized as either.
