what does this 18'44" pace mean in real terms? My pace certainly isn't 18 feet, which this readout seems to suggest; what does it really mean? How do I translate it into understandable terms?

Hi, @trennor , the single quote stands for minutes, and the double quote for seconds.  So 18’44” means your pace (per mile or per kilometre, depending on your settings) is 18 minutes and 44 seconds.

I hope this helps!
