Why calories burned keep going up even when I am not wearing it?

When I get home and take off my lux from my wrist,

the calories burned keep going up little by little..

One day, i went to fitness and the calories burned were way high and i found that the calories keep going up even when i was not wearing it.

I bought a new one this morning since I used the previous for about 3 years, yet,

the new one also has same issue...

Did anyone experience this and fix the problem?

I am not sure if i should return it or not.

Can it be fixed?

Hi @ohhiohhi the calories burnt will go up even when you are not wearing it. These are your calories you burn just by being alive. Everyone burns these metabolic calories so the fitbit adds them to you total whether you are wearing it or not. There will be no active calories added while you are not wearing your fitbit.

Is that why the calorie count on the fitbit is so high? It isn't just measuring calories burnt during activity? I am new to fitbit so trying to get my head round it.

Hi, @SuHai, welcome to the community, you may find this article of interest How does my Fitbit device calculate my daily activity? , there's a section on calculating calorie burn.

I hope this helps but if you are still concerned please post here again.
