does screen have to be so LARGE?

Woke up to screen so large it startled me! What is up with that and how do I get the font/screen back where it was?  AND~ the battery indicator? That is a must! Why would you change that? I do not want to have to go to a different screen to check my battery life- or check my watch.  Seriously, If it's all working and flowing just fine~ why oh why do you have to go in and mess it all up?  I've seen several complaints about these issues.  You all may find yourself losing business if you keep "upgrading" things that do not need to be messed with.
