100 LBS to lose. Brand Spanking New to Fitbit!

Hello everyone,

I know there are already threads like this made up, but I am new, and feel like I need to start a fresh thread if it's going to get me any attention!

I am 25 years old, live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and I am excited to start what I think will be a successful weight loss journey!  Add me and we can keep track of each other!

Katie 🙂

Oh, and this is Day 1 for me!

Hey Katie!

Welcome to FitBit 🙂 I am on day 4 with mine and it has been interesting. Just recording everything I eat is already making me more conscious of what and how much I consume. I am 24, in Fort Lauderdale FL and my current goal is get 10K steps in one day!

Good luck and I will be adding you so that hopefully we can keep each other motivated.

Wonderful!  I know.  I am technically doing Weight Watchers (haha, not really) right now, and the Fitbit has me constantly updating my steps and food.  Way more effective than just logging what I've eaten!

What has helped me a lot over the time I've spent logging my foods it pre-planning.  You can't always stick to the plan, but if you have one to begin with, you'll be surprised at how much you really start to hate to change that log.  Keeps you on track.  So it's the first thing I do every morning.

I was thinking of planning my meals for the week and possibly spending my Sundays making food for the week so that this way I will probably eat better....Now if only I can convince myself to either wake up earlier to get my steps or do it after work

How is everyone doing post-holiday? I did alright with intake but my steps are still lacking. And my sleep during the week is terrible. Happy Monday!

Well I live in South Florida and it was raining from all weekend so I didn't get the amount of steps I would've liked 😞

...excuses excuses. And I also realize I am not getting as much sleep I thought I was. I assumed I was getting 7-8 hours of sleep and it turns out I am averaging about 6.5 hours, I feel fine though so I wonder if I am worrying for no reason.

Also, I seem to have some issues logging fresh food, I can't seem to find something as simple as "Raw Red Bell Peppers" unless maybe its a limitation with my phone? Am I alone? Any help / advise would be appreciated...Thanks!

I really had to look the other day when I ate yellow bell pepper but I eventually found it. Nutrition Data is a good website if you want to check if the info is right. I also use it for my recipes.
