I have about 100 pounds to lose, and I've already lost around 16. I'm trying to lose all that 100, or even a potion of it, before my 20th class reunion in 2018. I have every intention of doing it, but I gave myself room incase I end up backpedling for some reason. Don't want that to happen, but just being realistic.
I'm a stay at home mom of three kids, and I'm just trying to wade through the choas. If you wish befriend me, go ahead. I'm game if you are.

I wanted to share a short version of my story and hopefully it will inspire you a little.
My weight loss journey stared last year on August 18, 2015. I had my physical and my doctor had nothing be "great" news for me. I had high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and I was almost pre diabetic. I was also 98 lbs overweight. Then he said if I didn't change my ways, I had about 10 years left to live.
I was put on two blood pressure meds, and a cholestorol med. I had a echocartigraph done on my heart and found I had damaged my heart. First chamber was enlarged, 3 leaking valves. I past a nuclear stress test in September, and was cleared for exercise. So October 1st I started exercising. Walking... 1/4 of a mile the first day was all I could do.
I made major, Permanant, changes to my diet. Cutting back on portions, and eat a ton of vegetables. My wife is still shocked when I eat so many vegetables! I used to eat next to none. Double cheeseburgers practically every day was most of my diet. Not anymore!
By December I was walking 3 miles. By January I had lost enough weight, that I off one blood pressure meds... After I got of that drug I was now walking up to 6 miles every other day! My cholestorol numbers came in, and I was now normal. In February I changed to walking everyday.
In February I did my first 5k walk. I had lost 41 lbs on that day Feb 27, 2016. Walking every other day was now 4-6 miles.
In April I started cycling after getting over the flu. But the after the flu a bad cold. Which turned into Broconitis. Which derailed my whole workout program for about a month...
But once I got healthy again, I got back it. Walking harder, and faster than I had before I got sick... Then I tore a 5 of the 9 calf muscles behind my right knew... I was unable to power walk for 3 long weeks. I was able to ride my bike... Once I healed and rehabed my leg I was able to walk even faster.
In June I got off my second blood pressure med. I can now ride my bike 20 miles or walk 6 miles closing in on the 4 mph mark.
July 2016 - I finally did it. I did 4 miles with a pace of 14:20. That's over 4 mph. Back in 2007 I used to walk at this pace, but apparently being 9 years older made it a lot harder to get to this pace.
Yesterday I was told I can stop talking my cholesterol med. And now I walk every day, 4-6 miles, at a average pace between 15:00 and 16:59 minutes per mile. I have an occasional mile in the 13 minute range, which is over 4.5 mph.
I have now lost 71 lbs, with 27 more lbs to go to get to the top of the normal weight range.
It has been 10 1/2 months since I started exercising. And almost a year since I start to change my life.
It will take me around 6 more months or so is my guess until I get to around 175, my second goal. That will be around my 50th birthday next year.
Bottom line, I think almost anyone can do what I have done. You can do it too. You just have to do it and stick with it.
Go for it! Make it happen!
