19 year old having a really tough time losing weight :(

Hello Darlings!

My name is Maria and I am 19 years old and weigh 240lbs. I'm currently working and going to college. I find myself always being in a rush and going to fast food places. I had stopped all of that but now it's like there's no time to stop and do anything, I even find myself doing homework the morning of class!

I really want some tips, and stuff on losing weight. Now that the weather is getting better, I power-walk a mile with my dog and what-not but I feel (and I know you are probably going to think) that it's not enough.

Can you guys help? Maybe things I can do while I'm at home, studying, and what-not. Thanks in advance!

Following. I'm a stay at home mom with an active 15 month old but honestly feel like I never have what I need. If I measure out snacks for the week they wind up going to my kids because my fiancé won't leave them alone. Everyone in my house is a grab whatever and eat it with no disregard to anyone else. UGH. Looking for ideas that work.

Once a week, use the time you would spend walking with your dog to cook for the week. If you have a freezer, you can prepare a week's worth of meals easily. Keep some low-calorie microwavable foods on hand for when you are short on time. They're not the healthiest food, but they're better than Burger King.

First off, congrats on making that all important decision to get healthier! Step 1, complete! I find walking my dog isn't enough as well..but it is a great starting point. I invested $20 in a 15lb kettle bell weight. There is a great 10 minute kettle bell workout from fitness blender on YouTube. Yep, 10 minutes. It works great for me as I am busy as well and can talk myself into 10 minutes of dedicated workout time a lot easier than 30 minutes. You could fit that in while watching TV or as a study break...

Don't get discouraged, we are our biggest obstacle.

Just keep moving, pace around while reviewing study notes, take the stairs, hit up subway for a salad instead of a burger. You can do it!

I should do that!

I went to walmart and bought an $8 sauna suit so that helps me sweat... A LOT!
I will check those videos out too!

All great advice. A little bit of a warning, though, some fast food salads have more calories than the burgers. It's all the extras they put on, like cheese and candied nuts.

I recently bought a stepper off Amazon for $40. That thing will make you sweat in a matter of minutes! You should check out one of those. It says to only use it 10-15 minutes at time, which is great because my legs turn to jelly. I use it when I walk past it, during commercials, playing videogames, when I feel I've been sitting down too long, or if I just want to get my heart going. I feel that it's been a worthwhile investment so far. 🙂
