2 5ks in a month?

I'm running my first 5k on July 4 and that's it for summer. There are two 5ks in October, one o the 5th one one 25th. Between July and October, I'm going to keep training for endurance and time between summer and fall.

Do you see any reason why I should not run two 5ks in October?

Go for it! I have an uncle who has been running for 45 years and I think he runs at least 5k per day.

No.  A 5k is a pretty short run.  A lot of runners run that distance daily, just for general health.

You should be fine, those two races are 3 weeks apart so there is plenty of time to recover and nurse a minor injury between them if that should happen to you.  Don't go out and try to qualify for the Olympic trials on the October 5th race and you'll be fine.  Take a few days off after the first race to let your body recover and then start back up with your running 3 days to a week later depending on how you feel.  I often run multiple races a few weeks apart.  This spring I raced a Leadman Triathlon on April 13th and an Ironman 70.3 Triathlon on May 3rd, which was 20 days later so you are going to be fine.  Keep up your training between July and October and go have some fun racing 5K's.

You should be fine. Indeed, if you continue to add mileage and speed over the next few months, two 5Ks in a month will probably not seem very challenging.  I'm a heavier runner, and I run about 30 miles per week (1 x 12m, 3 x 6.2).  I don't have problems.  When I'm training for something specific I usually do more than that without any trouble.
