I am so ordinary. We may not be as smart and clever as the people on TV but two comments I will never forget were made by ordinary people. One day a lady on the Hoarders TV show, after her house had been cleaned said, "Every little thing you do creates a bit of a mess; clean it up!" Absolutely right. Brilliant observation from someone with obvious mental problems. Don't delay, just get it done, or it grows.
The other person was a nurse. She looked at me laying on a table in an exam room and made a note on her clipboard and said,"Flat stomach". I said, "I'm laying down!". She said, "That counts". I didn't think about that too much at the time, but I have remembered it many times since then. Overweight people can lay on their back and not have a flat stomach. I just didn't think of it then. So we can try for a flat stomach at least when we are laying down. That counts.

@Glenda what's wrong with being ordinary? Some of the world's greatest people have been ordinary. Your post cheered me up. The Hoarders show is often my motivation when I see clutter accumulating in a corner of a room. I remind myself that left unattended, it could grow into one of those houses where you can't really live, but merely exist. Thanks for this!
