2015 -- Lose 20 pounds by Mother's Day -- 2015!

Hi!  I just saw a thread from 2014 where a group of mom's and non-mom's set a goal to lose 20 pounds by Mother's Day.  Anyone want to start one for 2015 with me?  I have about 35 pounds to lose total, but 20 by May sounds like a good goal to me.

I am going to try to get my 10,0000 steps in and I am joining a gym this weekend to add strength training and cardio.

Anyone here walking about 5000 steps most days? If so, how about having a challenge? Lets nudge each other onward.

Hi again Bobbinyc,

So glad that the healthier eating and increased activities has paid off. I'm so glad that you persisted through that first month.

It got so quiet here I was afraid we wouldn't have those who began the journey with us on Mothers

Day.

2 more weeks to go. Best wishes to make or at least get near your goals everyone.

All the best,

Barbara G

I'm consistently hitting 3,000 steps now.  Have hit 5,000 only once.  I guess I'd better challenge myself now to go to 4,000 a day!

Hi dancefoxtrot (Barbara).  Thanks for all your support and encouragement.  How are you doing with your goal?  I remember you saying you were 3 pounds off awhile ago.  No matter what the scale says, it sounds like you are doing alot to be in great shape.  Very impressive.

Yes you can Cathy. 4000 is just another block or 2 and you know that you can do that.

Healthy eating is 80 % of weight loss they say. Are you good at making healthy choices?

Keep stepping.

Hi Bobbi

On Friday I went to visit my son and went from 142.3 to 143 in 2 1/2 days. I originally went

Barbara, such a tiny gain while away is terrific. And that makes no difference in your health. Weight normally has a bit more fluctuation than that as our bodies process nutrition, water, waste, etc. you must have been keeping on track very well during your visit. Very impressive

Hi Bobbi

Thanks for the kind words. You are right about the scale variations. This morning I was 3.3 lbs. from goal but I think I will inch closer tomorrow. Anyway 4 hours of dance tomorrow so lots of burning fat I hope. Hope we are all moving toward our goals. Off to sleep at 35 after midnight.

Best wishes for healthy choices,

Barbara

HI E

Nothing to do except set a reasonable goal for Mother's Day and then do what you need to do and come here and share. This started back in Jan. but we have 12 more days to go until May 10th. Maybe aim to make changes in food or activity level and just do it.  We will root for you. Simple. You are in.

Good wishes for more healthy choices.

Hey Barbara, I get on the scale tomorrow.  I'm hoping to have made it to my 20-lb Mother's Day challenge a little early. I'll keep you all posted.

Starting Weight: 200

Last checked: 183 (about a month ago I think)

Current weight: "Stay tunned tomorrow"

If I make my MD goal weight, then I think we should make our next challege deadlined July 4th, as you had suggested. My new goal will be to lose 10 lbs by July 4th!  I've got to be pool ready this summer!! 🐵

Wow Trish

What good news to be early to meet your goal. Pool ready is right on.  Yes let's go for July 4 for the next goal.

My weight was up today. Tomorrow I hope it goes back down. I got in my 10k both days.

Glad there are still 10 days until MD as I'm needing to lose a bit more. Tomorrow we will see if it is 3 or 5 more darned lbs to lose.

Let's check it tomorrow and see where we are.

Off to sleep zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

All the best,

Barbara

Happy "early" Mother's Day to me!

SW: 200

CW: 178 (lost 22 lbs b/4 Mothers Day!)

Next GW: 168 (10 lbs by July 4th)

Ultimate GW: 155 (then I'll finally be back to the true weight displayed on my driver's license)

Hmm, as a reward instead of celebrating with food, I think I'll go out and buy myself a new Mother's Day outfit!  Stay on the course everyone. If I did it (typical yo-yo dieter), then all of you can to. I love that we're doing it in baby steps, which doesn't seem so daunting.
