30 Day Whole Foods Challenge for Weight Loss - who's in?

ANSWERED

Hi FitBit fam,

I'm fairly new to FitBit, been using it for probably a little over a month now. I have been on and off with tracking food and have decided to get serious about meal planning & tracking. I am trying to lose about 10-15 lbs in 6 weeks. I found this (free of course) program online that challenges you to eat only whole foods for 30 days to kick start healthier habits (website here - http://whole30.com/), which I think is a great way to lose weight in a healthy way. If you're interested in joining me, please add me as a friend and help keep the thread going so we can exchange healthy recipes, stay motivated and keep each other accountable. 🙂

Hope to see some FitBitters up for the challenge!

How has the Whole30 been good for you? How has it made you feel? Have you lost weight? I looked at the program. Can you tell me what recipes you used?

Hi it's been great for me ...MORE sleep(sound sleep no waking up)...I lost
7lbs.. I only have cravings for fruit and not for candy, cookies ,cake,
ice-cream or soda all my favorites I thought I couldn't LIVE WITHOUT. It
brought my aunt Flo bk after the doc said it was gone... And in general I
feel so so MUCH... BETTER.... I Just eat meat veggies and fruit no specific
recipes... Good luck I've started my 2nd round of whole 30..😃

I'm glad to hear it made a difference in how you felt, but a bit discouraged by the weight loss.  Oh well, today is day 6; 24 more to go.

I am new to fitbit (since may) but the whole foods thing I started about a year ago. It is the best I have ever felt and the weight loss came naturally with the clean eating. Here is the kicker, you have to work a little harder at planning your food because it is not pre packaged or convenient. I slipped up over the winter months for sure. Anyway I am back at it now. I found that the 100 days of real food site had some great ideas and recipies. It definately got easier after I detoxed my cupboards.( haha) Good luck everyone.

I am also on the whole food style of eating. I am using Dr. Fuhrman's "Eat to Live" book. It is such a great way to eat and I don't even have to starve myself. I have lost 15 lbs. in the past 2 months. Need to lose 40 more pounds. I am very confident I will do it with this syle of eating.

This is a late reply, so I hope you see it. Whole 30 is hard at first, but so worth it. If you already eat pretty clean, you may not lose much weight, but you'll probably notice other changes like fewer allergies, clearer skin, better sleep, etc. It has been a very good thing for me, and has taught me how what I eat has a huge impact on how I feel.
