30 lbs of Fat loss in 40 days

Hey Guys.  I am in Austin, Texas.

I just started a comprehensive medical supervised Fat Loss program that focuses on fine tuning your metabolism to burn fat using nutrition, hormones, exercise, lifestyle changes, and cleansing. Part of the program is using the fitbit.  The program is 90 days. My goal is to lose 50 lbs. in 90 days.

The first 40 days are done with a hormone called hCG. You have to eat like a PIG for two days at buffets, but you have no appetite after the first and have to force yourself to eat on the second.  You get a pedometer that counts ONLY your steps, unlike the fitbit that counts your arm swings.

You have to go to a High Intensity Training center where elite trainers do a Body Fat composition test using a BodPod that is highly accurate. They check to see your Fat Loss to Muscle loss ratio and give you your personal calorie requirements for your body.

You have to eat a very specific diet that causes the hCG to make your body eat your own fat at 1/2 - 1.5 lbs. a day, depending on how much fat you have, your gender and your current health.  It has meats, veggies and fruits. You also have to drink tea to help get the fat out of your body.  Here is something I did not know, if your poop floats, then you are excreting fat in your poop.

You are supposed to walk 3K - 5K ACTUAL steps each day, but NO aerobics or weights yet. You can do Yoga and stretching too if you want, but nothing that makes you go aerobic for long periods.  Increased heart rates are good, but they say that during hCG hormones if you do high intensity then you will burn your muscle off, which is not what you want if you want a good metabolism.

They look at your fitbit logs and see what you are doing. Every day you get a new Metabolic Lesson to learn and answer questions on. You get lessons on nutrition, hydration, infections, yeasts, alkalinity, hormones, habits, and even on how things are marketed to make you buy them and consume too much.

After the first 40 days, then you switch over to a healthy diet with good food to change your life style habits to keep you losing fat and start building a little muscle, but really getting your metabolism going.

Turns out that after 30 or so, your hGH (Human Growth Hormone) starts dropping and your metabolism slows because your sex hormones also drop. The hGH is the master control hormone that regulates almost all other hormones. As you age the hGH drops and all your other hormones drop too and you get fat. So even if you lose weight on a diet, you will get it all back if your hormones are not balanced properly.  Like insulin (makes your body store fat), Leptin (makes your body feel full and burn fat, Thyroid hormones - triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4), responsible for regulation of metabolism. Serotonin (helps you sleep and recover), Cortisol ( breaks down muscles and slows your metabolism), Testosterone (male sex hormone that makes you burn fat and gain muscle and have a good sex drive), well, anyway there are a lot of hormones that are controlled by hGH.

My hormone tests showed lower hGH and Testosterone and that will make me gain the weight back if I dont get those back up. I have to take injections that will activate my adrenal glands to make hGH and also have Testosterone injections after the hCG hormone phase.

The elite trainers will put me on a special TIMED eating schedule to make me burn even more fat and increase my hGH where I only eat for a specific 8 hour period and have nothing for 16 hours. It is the same TIMED program Hugh Jackman was on to lean out for his Wolverine movie.

The exercises move into short burst 5 - 10 minute intensity to stimulate the metabolism even more with some small muscle gains.

Hormone levels are checked, body composition is checked, nutrition is checked and education level is checked.  So over 90 days, I am shooting for a realistic (I'm told) 50lbs of Fat loss and 10 lbs of muscle gain.

My starting stats are

244 lbs. 6'1"

153.7 lbs. of muscle

71 lbs. of Fat

Testosterone levels at 425 (range 0 - 1000+)

hGH level at 5 (0 - 12)

If anyone wants to know more, I will be glad to answer your questions.

Just stepped on the scale after one week on the Personal Trainer diet and have lost 7.4#.  Also using Yacon syrup and probiotics.  Yes, I know much of it is water, but I know some fat fell off somewhereWoman Wink

I find the combination of My Fitness Pal [for logging food, water] and Fitbit [for activity, community discussions, and overall dashboard] to be excellent motivation!

If they actually said this - if this is actually in their paperwork - they are idiots.

They have a basic lack of understanding of how metabolism and fat oxidation works.

Learn and be educated.

This obviously calls in to question rest of the comments they made that fly in the face of established studies that show the responses from the body.

How did it work out, that's what I'm curious about?

This was an old thread and the topic dying out....and I think it should.
Mayo, WebMD, and a number of other sites all show research and data to support that the diet plan originally started in this thread, is not only dangerous, but ineffective over time.
Anyone needing to lose weight should consult with their own personal physician and follow a medically sound plan, that incorporates lower calorie intake, higher activity, and a diet comprised of real foods that can manage weight for a lifetime, not just in the meantime.

I imagine that Jimmy has left this thread because for some reason you always have the naysayers jumping in and bashing you over the head.

It would be nice to find a forum JUST for those of us on HcG so that we can discuss what we are seeing instead of having to filter through all the negativity.

All I can say is thank you for your concern, but if HcG is what WE need to get us motivated then let it be.

I am having great success on the HcG plan and it even got me to break down and buy a Fitbit which I kept putting off since I did not feel it was needed and I could use my money in a better way.

I am losing weight and moving which I would not have ever done if I did not start the HcG diet.

Did you ever do HCG? I did, my first time ever. I started Nov 1 (2014) and as of today I am down 16 pds! I don't have THAT much to lose so I am shocked. Usually the last 20 are horrible. I love it, never been happier w a diet. Not hungry, lots of energy. FitBit still helps for food tracking and motivation. Let m eknow if you did it.

I am checking into what you said and I am pretty certain you are mistaken.  If one clinic were shut down due to health concerns, it DEFINITELY was NOT concerns about HCG.  Otherwise a statewide health protocol woul dbe in effect.  I will call Dr. Kristin S. Black in Charllote who has an HCG program in NC to ask about what you said.  I hate it when disinformation is put out with checking facts.  You don't work for Big Pharma do you?  😉

I have heard nothing but good things about Dr. K.

The bottom line is this: are you planning to use these hormones and eat 500 calories a day for the rest of your life? Probably not, and the moment you start eating even somewhat normally you will gain back all the weight you lost. There is a reason fad diets are called "fads". It's because they don't last and they don't last because they are too extreme and unless you have an eating disorder, you can't stick to them.

There are dozens of reputable sources who say that HGH is dangerous...the only ones saying otherwise are the ones profitting from it's use. Unfortunately it's very hard to convince someone of the truth when they really, really, really want to believe the lie.

Hate to draw judgements from basically just a head shot (infamous last words), but me-thinks she is not drinking the juice herself.

Maybe she is, just doesn't appear like it. Or else, she's recently gotten in to dispensing this, and hasn't finished her own course yet.

Was kind of hoping the link on her name would work, alas not anymore.

There's the new one - http://www.charlottebioidenticaldoctor.com/bioidentical-doctor-charlotte/

My 2 cents: This is not a sustainable way to lose weight, too few calories and tricking your body with hormones will have negative efects in the long run. After being off the hormone, you're more likely to gain back the weight and some more to compensate.

TLDR? Make a caloric budget. Eat your food. Burn it. Smiley Wink

Congrats on the weight loss. This has been an easy way for me to lose weight AND KEEP IT OFF! The caps is for the so-called good-doers telling us how bad we are on our own personal choices.

Please keep us informed as to how you are doing. I do not get to go back on the HcG until the end oof January.

Jimmy - be careful.  I have done this diet 3 times and yes - you will lose the weight in  very short period of time.  The hcg diet calls for 500 calories a day.  All the green veggies you want.  1 small orange or 1 small apple per day.  3.5 oz of protein.  I found to lose the weight only chicken worked.  Drank lots of water.  No sodas, no alcohol.  I was never hungary.  I lost 25 pounds in 3 weeks.  (3x) Then after that you're supposed to start adding in other foods.  If you gain over 2 pounds you do a "steak day" = eat nothing all day and then eat the largest steak you can.  The first steak day usually works but the 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc do not.  Every time I gained the weight back - after going off of the hormone I would gain weight like crazy even though I kept my calorie intake under 1300 per day and did my 10k steps per day.  I did lose muscle mass and never got it back even though I work out with weights 2x per week.  Something happened.  Also, on the hcg hormone I found my concentration and memory were impaired.  Upon further research I learned that pregnant women's IQs drop substantially and I think mine did as well.  A friend of mine was also on the diet and passed out while walking around the house.  She quit it.

Hey there everyone! Sorry to get into the thread and be a bummer but I honestly believe that tricking your body with hormones and handle an extremely low caloric budget is bound to have a negative effect in the long run.

As @Heybales has mentioned in other threads, it's not only about the number on the scale, losing too much weight in such a short period of time will cause muscle loss, affect bone density and create nutrient deficiencies.

I recommend to consult a Physician (not from the clinic) before going into this path, since usually leaving the program will cause a rebound.

Hope to see you around the forums Smiley Very Happy

It is VERY sustainable. I went from 210 to 139 and have locked in at 139 or 5 months. I go from 139-140.5 no matter what. Menstrual cycle, eating more, eating less. I have NEVER been so locked in to a weight since I was in high school and I am 48 years old. I eat plenty, never deprived and have ZERO cravings or hunger. I never want sweets, I eat huge fruit salads every night but on ocassion if I am at a fine restaurant want want a decadent dessert I have it, granted after eating 1/2 I am full but it never causes me to gain. I could not be happier.

700 calories per day?  800-900 calories per day?  That's not a diet, it's starvation, whether it's medically supervised or not.  That isn't enough to sustain a child, never mind an adult woman.  If you are not eating at least 150-200 calories above your BMR, you are doing long-term damage to your body.  Period.

You need to consult with a doctor who is not invested in the snake oil known as HCG.  Maybe get a DEXA scan and bone scan so you can see where your weight loss is really coming from.  I think I'll keep losing slowly, nourishing and fueling my body by eating 1900-2000 calories per day, so that I don't break a hip by simply getting up out of a chair someday.

My doctor is also supportive of weight loss and its impact on health.  "Health" being the key word here.  And my doctor is cognizant of the fact that starving my body to achieve some random number on a scale is in no way beneficial, if it's doing long term damage to my overall health.

I debated with myself as to whether or not I should even respond to this thread, as it really is a thread that promotes such an unhealthy way of eating that it should be allowed to die. If you are currently following this way of eating, or are contemplating doing so, I would urge you to visit a  site where you can enter the amounts and types of food that you eat, and it gives you a comprehensive nutritional breakdown of the foods you are eating, and provides you with specific areas of nutritional deficiencies:  www.cronometer.com - you will easily see the nutritional deficiencies inherent in following such a low calorie and low nutrient density diet.
