Hi all,
After a couple of these keeping me on track ish since mid jan i thought i would start another one, hoping some of you will join me
SW 244LB
CW 230LB
GW 209LB
My husband is in the military and has been deployed since late Jan, he should be back sometime in June my aim was to hit the 209lb mark before he got back but that's looking less realistic after some busy scary weeks with my 2 year old having a cancer scare but as a mini goal I want to be under 216lb by the start of June, then I will be 2st off since he deployed. I have a school reunion in July and my graduation in October so lots to work towards this year!
How are you all doing? What are your goals?

Hi Leona and welcome,
Isn't is nice to have a place to share and have folks understand and root for each other.
Looks like you on your way to a slimmer figure in New Orleans this Oct.
After going on autopilot and eating extra guacomole and hummus late last night while watching TV, I'm rededicating myself to being much more mindful all day even when tired. Scooping even health food from the container in front of the TV is not too smart. Up 1 lb this AM so that is a good reminder. Still only 3.4 lbs from 140 goal for 7/4. So if I hit 141 something in a week I'll be pleased.

Mermaid,
The water weight will fall off easily. Are you staying active in NH on vacation? Stay strong and have fun on vacation. 2 lbs a week loss is terrific.
Best to you,
Barbara G

Bobbinyc,
Thanks for the support. LOL losing brain cells. I hope not as most of us need to keep all we have as the years go by. You are right again about not focusing so much on the numbers on the scale. Went unconscious last night late and ate hummus and guacomole from the container while watching TV. The news about the manhunt for the prison escapee was nerve wracking. The President's eulogy was so moving I sobbed my head off.
Haven't done that for a while so now I'm at 143.4 this AM .
Back on track and looking for activity today and mindful eating. You are right about not knowing if it is water weight or muscle gain or summer water storage. I didn't even know about summer weight changes and it is certainly warmer now but still walking weather. Do we store more water in the heat as we need to protect ourselves? Guess I can google it to learn about it.
How are you doing this week? Is the weather super hot where you are now?
We are doing this together so we will meet our goals and then maintain our new healthier bodies.

What about calorie intake changes? Also check that you are not on a medication that blocks weight loss. At least you have maintained so drop 500 cals in intake, eat only healthy foods like protein from lean sources lots of non starchy veggies only whole fruit like berries, careful with the nuts as 1/4 cup of walnuts =190 cals. Also can you get in 12,000 steps a day?
If nothing good happens in terms of belly fat loss maybe get your thyroid checked. But you lost 60 lbs already so you are good at it and are on your way to a healthier size. Just some ideas.

Holy cow Dinky 2 desks jobs. Do you take breaks morning and afternoon and walk for 10-15 minutes then. What about a walk after lunch for 1/2 hour? Drink a lot of water all day and add steps to the bathroom and back. Take the stairs whenever possible. Walk to talk to a colleague instead of calling within the office.
Park across the parking lot on all your errands to get extra steps. Log your food, don't snack late at night, drink lots of water and fill up on veggies and lean protein. Thoughts lie so don't listen to excuses for eating junk that isn't healthy for you. You are on your way to health so no excuses just careful choices of whole, real food.
Best of luck,
Barb

oh oh Dinky
The mystery meals and dessert may be the culprits. Salads are a good choice and be wary of the dressing. It is often the restaurant or processed foods that are loaded with calories. Sounds like you are moving around even in the desk job situation.
Want to lose more leave the dessert on the shelf most of the time.
Best,
Barb

Just got my fitbit for my 50th birthday and am loving it...my goal is to be down 40 by the end of the year...I have lost 13 so far and that goal seems so far away. Started running to get my legs in shape and stop jiggling when I walk...haha. All my friends are thin and it is hard to talk to them about the challenges that I face everyday with food.

216 - down one pound. I'll have one more weigh-in before 7.4.15. I believe my initial goal to hit by 7.4.15 was 5% which I've hit.
On 7.5.15 is anyone interested in a Labor Day Challenge? I'd keep mine at 5% of my starting weight.
^5 to everyone who's made the committment to get healthier and be fitter.
I am feeling SO great these days!!

Congrats. Yes let's set up Labor Day as our next bench mark to reach our goals.

Welcome newbie
You can talk to us as many folks have struggled for years.
Log your food and create at least 500 cal deficit, drink lots of water and eat healthfully and the weight will continue to drop off.
If you eat emotionally from stress or lonliness, etc. write about it instead of eating as it helps.
You can do this,
Barb

Hi Challengers,
Man oh man I forgot my fitbit when charging and didn't notice it was missing until I was almost finished with hrs of weeding, watering and other tasks.Even the time I sat and read or used the computer, had to burn some cals. Funny how I don't like to fall behind on my steps. Perhaps I need to set a timer when I charge so I don't forget the darn device. It hasn't happened more 4 times in 5 months but darn.
Any who I added in the activity part but can not find an activity of sitting at the computer in the activity column.
Now out the door for a walk.

With less than a week to go, I am close to my goal. I reached 158 this am....
Going to keep at it, walking, low impact aerobics when I can, and watching what I eat is all working. Down 13 lbs since May, and down 4 in this challenge.
Count me in for a Labor Day challenge too!!
