Hi all,
After a couple of these keeping me on track ish since mid jan i thought i would start another one, hoping some of you will join me
SW 244LB
CW 230LB
GW 209LB
My husband is in the military and has been deployed since late Jan, he should be back sometime in June my aim was to hit the 209lb mark before he got back but that's looking less realistic after some busy scary weeks with my 2 year old having a cancer scare but as a mini goal I want to be under 216lb by the start of June, then I will be 2st off since he deployed. I have a school reunion in July and my graduation in October so lots to work towards this year!
How are you all doing? What are your goals?

I am just seeing this now and just started using Fitbit. But I would like to make a goal from now until the 4th. There will be lots of food around me in the next few days and, as I mentioned, I am just starting. This is my 3rd day. So I would like my goal to be 1 serving of a sweet a day. I think I can do that. Then I can get more restrictive after the 4th. I would also like to commit to being thoughtful about all the other food that goes into my mouth. I know I can do it. I will go to the gym as well every day of the weekend that they are open. Not sure if they are open on the 4th. Thank you everyone for being there.

Hi, I'd like to join in too. I am a total newbie just starting a couple of days ago.
SW 201
CW 201
GW 145
I have been on the diet ups and downs forever but this is the most I have ever weighed. I know I need people I can communicate with to encourage each other. This sounds like the place. Just retired as of yesterday and am feeling really positive!

LOL Glad that you walked. When you forget your fitbit or it needs to be charged you can log your 10k walk under activities. So no excuses it still counts.

Hi Bobbinyc,
Now that is a puzzle that you lost 18 lbs but didn't drop a size? Well another enigma. Just keep on with your healthy changes and the results will catch up in sizes. 18 less pounds weighing you down. Good idea to add steps to burn more. I think that hot weather causes us to store water. I'm not losing this week but I'm not giving up and staying active.
Let's stay positive and careful over the holiday. We have 3 full days to go. Maybe the darn scales will move in the next few days.
All the best,
Barbara G

Welcome Newbies,
We can all start a labor day challenge after the 4th of July. I like the idea of being fully aware of food choices and staying mindful.
Stay strong,
Barb

Welcome. Congrats on retiring. Lot's more time to walk off the pounds. Breaking 200 will be a morale booster I bet. This time it can stay off for good health.

So last week and I did not hit my goal of 124, but considering I went to a Bachelorette and participated in a rowing festival all last weekend (with lots of food trucks of temptation), I count the fact that I didn't gain as a victory! Was only one LB shy of my goal, not too shabby!

Dancefoxtrot,
Good point on putting the steps under activities, I hadn't thought of that. I have used the activity piece for swimming, weight lifting and even washing/waxing the car. You're right, no more excuses!

SW: 250

CW: 221.7
July 4 GW: 215

Total weight loss: 28.3 lbs
Weight loss since starting the challenge: 17.3 lbs
So I only lost 1.1 lbs over the week, which isn't horrible given that I had my bridal shower last Saturday. I was in charge of making cupcakes, cookies, and all sorts of other goodies. And don't get me started on the drinks! The mimosa bar was one of many choices that weekend. All in all, not bad, but was definitely hoping for a bit more self-control. But how could you pass up these beauties? 🙂
^ I had to make and taste-test those...can't believe I didn't eat all 4 batches! Obviously not hitting 215 by Saturday, but if I can get under 220 I'll be happy! Heck, I'm just happy that my bridal shower dress was a 14! Two months ago, I was a 20 (though I refused to wear that size, so all my 18s were super tight). I'll have one last update on 7/4, then off to the Labor Day challenge!

Hello Chananigans,
That took a tremendous amount of will power to overcome those sweets. Well done!
Sugar seems like one of the most powerfull foods on earth. I find that various documentaries about food are very inspirational. Someone in the Fitbit community brought up "Fed Up" which I have not seen but need to, for foods with excess sugar are a HUGE downfall for me.
Congratulations on your weight loss!

Thank you, @fifofum! I have watched just about every food-related documentary on Netflix and unfortunately nothing motivated me as much as one day realizing that it was physically impossible to lose as much weight as I wanted to for my wedding in September. It was that day that I joined this challenge.
I decided that I would NOT be at my heaviest on my wedding day, and that any effort to get healthier would be steps in the right direction. Still heartbroken that I regret not putting this effort into weight loss over the past 2 years, but I have 73 days to do my best!
Anyway, thank you so much for the kind words!!

Almost there.......
I look foreward to my daily morning walks...(I get up at 3am to walk..)
I look foreward to my daily Yoga practice...(altho I am still not very good...)
I no longer "Live to eat" .....now "I eat to live" Food no longer rules over me!
It's not been easy, and I've been discouraged, but not beaten!
I set a goal........and I WILL NOT be denied!
(Started in 38 waist jeans that were almost unwearable to 32 waist jeans that are semi loose)
Never quit!
