My husband is in the military and has been deployed since late Jan, he should be back sometime in June my aim was to hit the 209lb mark before he got back but that's looking less realistic after some busy scary weeks with my 2 year old having a cancer scare but as a mini goal I want to be under 216lb by the start of June, then I will be 2st off since he deployed. I have a school reunion in July and my graduation in October so lots to work towards this year!
How are you all doing? What are your goals?

That was also my goal when I first started. I thought if I could make it to 200 I could make it to any number below that. I finally did it and am currently down almost another 20 pounds under the 200. Great accomplishment for sure. Good Luck ... you got this!!

For me, it's the end of week 1 and I'm down 5-lbs. I've been to the gym every day since Monday for 1-2hrs. No morning workouts, couldn't manage it. I started with 30 minutes of treadmill walking at 2.2 kph on a level 1 hill program. My lower back was screaming at me. I'm up to 1h30-2h walking at 3.0 kph on a level 3 hill program with less back pain, and I'm even starting to jog on the low inclines at 4.0kph for 3-5 minutes. Nutritionwise, I'm doing better that I thought I would. I'm sticking to my calorie limit (I don't eat back my calories from exercise). I bought a box of Skinny Cow ice cream treats at Costco for an evening treat when I need it. It's hard to find enough non-starchy vegetables that my kids will actually eat (ironic because we have been vegetarian their entire lives) so it's been broccoli and romaine lettuce every night. It's also really hard to eat during my work day because I can't eat while I teach (music). If it requires a spoon or mulitple containers I can't do it until I get a break at 12:20. I usually work through that 20-min break too tutoring or running music clubs. So my daytime snacks have to be 1-handed bars that I can grab as I run out of my classroom for recess supervision. I know it's totally crap TV, but to keep myself motivated at the gym I watch episodes of 'Extreme Weightloss' with Chris and Heidi Powell. If those participants can do it so can I. I picked up their latest book and I'm looking at carb-cycling, but it will be challenging as a vegetarian who doesn't like dairy. I like the exercise ideas in the book, there are some 9-minute workouts that I could possibly do at work to add to my workouts. Sleep is still a problem. Weeknights I can't sleep and drag my butt out of bed, and on weekends I have the opposite problem, my body won't let me sleep in. I was up at 6am today (bed at 11:30) and could not fall back asleep...ARGH!

I'm graduating in June with a degree in micro/molecular biology and have been stress eating like crazy since September for numerous reasons. I think I've gained about 20 pounds! I purchased a FitBit flex a couple of weeks ago to get motivated and moving and have started going to the student rec center, which my lovely student fees are paying for, haha . I would love to be down to about 155 by the 4th. I'm in!

No wonder I was feeling off, turns out I'm sick with a flu bug making the rounds. I'm actually staying home too which, for a teacher, is a big deal. It takes me so long to write out my sub(situte teacher) plans that I might as well go to school and teach them myself. I'm angry because I was just getting into my gym routine and I had to skip the gym on Tuesday. Yesterday after a day at home I thought I felt a little better so I went for a slow 2-hrs on the treadmill while my daughter was at gymnastics. It was either that or sit on my butt and watch for 2-hrs. Turns out, that was a dumb idea. I'll really try to take it easy today.
