My husband is in the military and has been deployed since late Jan, he should be back sometime in June my aim was to hit the 209lb mark before he got back but that's looking less realistic after some busy scary weeks with my 2 year old having a cancer scare but as a mini goal I want to be under 216lb by the start of June, then I will be 2st off since he deployed. I have a school reunion in July and my graduation in October so lots to work towards this year!
How are you all doing? What are your goals?

Got my charge in June, overweight, diabetes, and high blood pressure, been walking on the mountain behind my house just about every day and slowly getting there. All my health readings have been getting better and when I get down to my goal I'll start working more on weight training. Right now one thing at a time

Hello all,
Just kind of stumbled into this discussion while board at work (SHHH) Just a quick back story a couple years back I dropped an increcible amount of weight. Went from 250 down to 160 and kept that off for a year. After I gratuated, the real world (my excuse at least) snuck up on me and before I knew it another year had gone by and I gained back a good portion. Needless to say I am energized and positive that the weight will come off and STAY off this time. People say it is a lifestyle change and that coudn't be more true. Just cause we reach that magical number on the scale doesn't mean you get to quit or take too long of a break because before you know it you might have to start over like I did. Love hearing everyone's story and sorry for the book I just wrote. LETS DO THIS

Lost weight, need to update. This dropping red meat, most sweets, almost all bread and maintain 1500-1700 calories a day is working great. Also doing 10K steps 4-5 days a week (I try every day, just some days it just doesn't happen) is helping me feel great.
This time I am not on a diet, this is the way I must continue to eat forever...I choose to be healthy.

Just started using the fitbit on July 9th first week down 2 pounds.
I only weigh in once a week on Thursdays, hoping for another 2 pounds.
We will see.

Some of the weight loss may be attributed to water weight. Don't give up, though! Keep up the great work 🙂

Hi snd81547,
Glad to see another person on their way to health!
The fitbit forum is a great spot for like-minded people to encourage one another. I know last week I went into a slump of not doing my 10K steps for 5 days! My schedule didn't offer the flexibility was part of the problem and being a desk jockey at work, I rarely have reason to walk around and get in steps. I also thought I deserved a break for I learned that I had lost 7 pounds.
The weight scales vary so much that the only one I actually use now is the Dr.'s office, a place I rarely visit. There is a big difference between the Doc office scale and the scale at the gym.
Weight loss is something we measure, but in reality, it is really not a great measure for health on how we look or feel. If I have 20 pounds of fat on my body and that 20 pounds becomes muscle because of toning due to walking, exercise, weight lifting, etc., I am happy with that and I'm going to look better and feel better and I will for certain be more healthy.
I encourage you friend, don't let the scale become the thing that discourages you from pressing on in your weight loss journey. Taking care of your health is needed for your future well being. I hope I have encouraged you today. We are all in this together!

Ok, can somebody tell me what a Spoiler deal is supposed to mean? I just finished posting and I thought it was a Smiley face and was going to add it after my last sentance. Guess I hit the wrong smiley face icon.
Sorry

No idea so want the answer to that ? as well. I thought people used a spoiler alert if they were about to tell the plot details of a movie or show before the listener had seen it. They would be spoiling the discovery of the show as it is revealed in sequence.
Perhaps a Fitbit official knows.

That sounds awesome getting right! A couple of pounds have been lost on my end but the detox sounds like a great started. Thanks for letting us know. For myself, if I don't see results right away I get discouraged. Am not very good with patience.

Too many hobbies of the sedentary variety. I want to be at goal weight by next summer. Have had fit bit since November but didn't use much till July.
