5' 10" (F) with 75lbs to lose...but I got this!!!

ANSWERED

I am 5'10", F, with 75lbs to lose. I currently weigh...gulp...245 and want to get back down to 170. For most that weight is still too high for my height but I felt incredible strong and healthy at that weight.

I have already lost some weight. When I came home from the Middle East I was 263. I have never been this big before in my life. Between emotional eating, illness, and lack of movement my body has become a blobulous figure of what it used to be. That being said, I know I can get back to a solid 170, be healthy, and stop being sick and tired all the time.

My thought is, by throwing this out here I have accountability to each of you as we all make our way to our fitness goals one step at a time. My avenue for weightloss and healthy living is returning to a Vegan lifestyle and getting my body moving. I don't shove my beliefs and ways upon anyone. I just know what works for me.

Come join me!! Let's do this together. WE GOT THIS!!!

I am 5' 9" and need to lose another 45 pounds give or take.  I love my Fitbit because it keeps me accountable to my fitness goals.  I use MyFitnessPal to log my food and water intake (which automatically uploads to my Fitbit) and find it to be awesome.  The two apps work very well together and you get a solid picture of your overall health.

What a great idea! I created an acct there too. You are right, it does give a great overall snapshot.

I have to say, it is nice having someone else who is tall going through the same thing. We are able to hide our weight pretty well because of our height. People don't realize that 20lbs to someone short and 20lbs to us are very different. We end up usually having to lose a lot more weight because we can get away with more in our appearance.

Thank you for responding!!

I agree.  People are always shocked when they find out how much I really weigh.  They say, "Well, you're tall so you can pull it off."  No, fat is fat and it is unhealthy.  I want to look and feel good about my body.  I'm a long way from that but working steadily toward my goal.

Although, I do win a lot of prizes at the let-me-guess-your-weight booths, lol.  They are always off by 20+ pounds.

Hi guys!  I am in the same boat as you.  I am 5'9" and currently weigh 223.  I started at 236 and lost 13 pounds in April.  I would like to get to 150, but it all depends how I look and feel when I get closer to that.  People in general have no idea what I weigh.  My boyfriend looked shocked when I told him I wanted to lose 80 pounds.  He still has no idea!  If either of you want to friend me through fitbit or on My Fitness Pal my user name is catrip1024.  It's nice to meet people who are on the same wavelength as me.
