Hello all,
Been a member here since November 2013 and I wanted to share my story and make some new friends along the way. I'm two months post gastric bypass surgery and I've dropped from 387lbs to 334lbs as of this morning. My surgeon recommended Fitbit as a way to track my progress over the next year as I approach my target weight. I picked up a Fitbit Force a little more than a month ago and my Aria scale was delivered yesterday, so I think that I'm properly equipped for the upcoming joirney. I'm looking forward to 2014 and continuing to work towards reaching my target weight along with improving my overall health. Hope that everyone has a safe and Happy New Year!

I just started my journey in full process this past Tuesday. I already had a sleep study, extensive blood work, EKG and stress test prior to going to surgeon. It's a scary decision and I can't talk to many people about it since they say I don't need it. I'm usually active but this cold weather is making me unmotivated. How did everyone know when it was time to see a surgeon?
Hi Zelda,
It took me a couple of years to finally face the reality that I was never going to be able to lose the weight on my own because I just liked eating too much. I'm pretty sure that I topped out near 450lbs before deciding to get serious and see a surgeon. I got down to 387lbs on my own by the morning of my surgery and I'm currently down to 304lbs a little over four months later. My target is 205lbs by November 2014.
