Peanut butter and banana are great, if you can afford the calories! I tend to consume carbs pre-workout, as I feel they improve my performance, and protein post-workout, though not necessarily immediately (as I don’t believe in the 30-minute anabolic window myth!).

I eat a full meal after working out since I cant workout on a full stomach. I like to have a lot of protein with a little healthy carbs. Bean burgers are prob my fave, bunless, topped with avacado ,sriracha, and fresh tomato and onion. If I can't eat a full meal I'll have a handful of nuts with an apple or banana
Best AnswerI get my walks in at night. Finish and have a glass of wine and popcorn. Not it is not the answer most will give but it is a reward for a long day and finisheing strong. The reward is not the food (a problem for many) but rather the rest and relaxation and knowing I set and met my goals for that day. On days i do nto walk i do not get the wine.

I'm with @Dominique here. Carbs before, protein after... although the banana with peanut butter makes a nice pre-workout combination. I go for the banana before a long walk, sometimes with peanut butter, and perhaps a protein bar or shake or some "real" protein like turkey after.

If I don't eat dinner before I go- its always oatmeal with fruit. If I eat before I go, then a big old pile of popcorn when I get home. its my addiction. banana and PB would take so much of my calorie allowance I would have to treat it like an entire meal.

When I say peanut butter, I actually mean PB2 or JIFs new peanut powder. You reconstitute it with water and about 85% of the fat has been removed, so it's a lot cheaper calorie-wise.
2 tbsp serving
Butter - 190 cals, 130 from fat, 16g fat, 8 carbs, 2 fiber, 3 sugar, 7 protein 135mg sodium
Powder - 46 cals, 10 from fat, 1.3 g fat, 2.6 carbs, 1.3 fiber, .6 sugar, 5.25 protein, no sodium
