First - I assume because you posted in weight loss section - that's the goal. Fiber is an odd thing, when I think about it. Supposedly, there are two types of fiber. One kind, our body uses, the other passes through, pretty much unused. Some folks on carb diets don't even include fiber in their count because of this.

Myself, after reading a zillion different things, many things conflicting, the only thing all seem to agree on is the math - calories burned must exceed calories consumed if you want to lose weight.

So - if you are getting the right portion of micronutrients - vitamins, minerals, that kind of stuff, then I say, eat whatever you want, as long as you don't exceed your calorie target range. Life's too short to eat only healthy foods without giving yourself a little fun food every now and then. Just be honest with yourself and track it, so you can see the results.

Without looking at the label its hard to say.  Whats the sugar content? I would add a small serving of high fiber/ low sugar cereal to a high protein breakfast. How much weight are you trying to lose?

Here's a trick that I use---from total carbs subtract fiber and protein. anything under 10 is good but closer to zero is better. Definitely add some protein.

You should not have to completely give up foods, it's all about portion sizes, eating in moderation and keeping within moderation and eating healty foods.  Try an organic all bran cereal.  Bran is a grain that is good for you, but if the brand you are eating is loaded with sugar then look at another brand.

Weight loss comes down to calories in vs. calories out. However, sugars and sodium can cause fluid retention that can temporarly effect scale weight.

Honestly, I ate cake every other weekend and still lost 60 lbs in 8 months. I eat chocolate or some other treat every day after dinner and am still losing weight. A high fiber cereal like All bran is a good choice as far as cereal is concerned. It is relatively low in sugar. Eating All Bran is hardly going to effect your weight loss goals. If you like it, eat it. There are far worse things you could be eating. The only concern I would have is that it's primarily a carb. Meal balance is important for satiety. If you find your cereal is not keeping you full long enough. You probably want to add a bit more protein or healthy fats to help balance out the meal.

It looks to me like that All Bran is more dietary fiber than anything else. Can't see how much the serving weighs but 10gm of it is dietary fiber - i.e. not digestible - that's a lot. Can lead to a lot of gas and bloat until your system adapts. It would be nice if that chart made it plain if the 4gm of protein listed is from the cereal or the skim milk because 1/2 cup of milk has 4.5gm of protein and if you were getting 8.5gm of protein from this you would be in fine shape on that.

I'm a big fan of All Bran, half a cup with one Weetbox and hot milk, and that's breakfast sorted.  Fibre is great for getting things moving on through and All Bran has more fibre per serve than most things.

I eat a lot of high fiber foods that help me lose weight. Beans are great for making me feel full for a long time. (Kidney beans, garbanzo, pinto, black beans, white beans, etc.) Other high fiber foods are pears, apple's, oatmeal, barley, etc.  I've always been successful at losing weight when I eat a lot of high fiber. Air popped popcorn is great too.

I know you posted this a while back and although I love all bran and total ( i prefer the one with 100% of dily vitamins), cereal just doesnt stick with me, at all. my brother in law swears by special k with protein. if I am going to make cereal I make oats with almond milk and add hemp, chia and flax seeds with a mashed banana or cinnamon apples.
