Alta HR calorie deficit

Just recently the way calories are shown/calculated has changed. Now it frequently says I’m over target. I’ve checked Help and think I understand BUT to change back to what it was it tells me to click on food tile/see more then gear icon. There is no gear icon so I can’t change it back. I’ve had the HR 3 years so I know it’s nothing I’m doing wrong and previously lost 1.5 stone by following the calories Fitbit app told me. So is this happening because the Alta HR is outdated? So I have to buy a new model?  I find it quite disheartening

Hi @Sarann2018 deficit is calculated in the cloud, based on your logged food, your weight goal, and your calories burnt throughout the day.

I've moved this thread out of hardware support and into the Manage Weight Discussion Board.

As mentioned the device is merely pushing some figures into your account (steps, distance, calories, time stamp, time stamp of workouts) - your account is doing the things you are commenting on with those figures (calories and time stamp).

So I'm betting some account setting went back to default - that can happen. That's where the setting change needs to take place - not on your device.

Perhaps a tile came back you had hidden - is it a gauge for eaten & burned calories at a specific time?

Are you seeing this Over Target on your phone app or website view?

What's the name of the tile or view that says Over Target, what other info on it?

If website - you have to hover over the tile for the gear icon to show up to click Delete to remove that Calories In VS Out gauge.

Because no, new model not needed, new model would just feed it's figures into the same account with same settings.
