Wondering if there are any diabetics out there who are using the FB and working towards weight loss? I'm insulin dependent and trying to lose weight but more importantly trying to regain my health and physical strength while balancing everything. A challenge a day! Love to hear your stories....

I also get high after workouts. I spoke to a kinesiologist i see who helps me with workouts, and he said that sometimes blood sugars go higher with running specifically. He said he found that people often went higher when they sprinted, or did high intervals with running on a treadmill. Simple solution would be to just give yourself a unit or so of fast acting (i use novorapid) before you workout if you know that this is the type of activitiy you'll be doing.

I have heard that too, Ron, but also heard that it comes back down quickly and stays down longer. I exercise more gently and for a longer period of time, but I guess you can't do that as a runner.

I have had my Fitbit since 4/2014 and I never saw that place to log glucose. I know there are so many more features than what I use. I should start experimenting more with it.
What do you get with premium that you don't get normally?

Where is the place to log glucose? Is that just a feature of Premium or is it on the basic Dashboard?

It's on the regular dashboard. IF you click on LOG, Glucose is the last tab on the right. Someone said you don't get this unless you had your Fitbit account before Sept 2014.

I guess that's why I don't have it. I've only had my fitbit a few weeks.

Just for the fun of it I pulled a Glycemic Index for 1000 foods out of a Harverd Medical Journal article. It's headings are (1) food type, (2) G1 Glucose, (3) G1 Bread, (4) Subjects - Type and Number, (5) Serving Size, (6) Average Carb/Serving) (7) GL per Serving. This is all well and good for a Scientific type but it is Greek to me. Can anybody suggest cite for a simpler table or tell me what in this table is important if I am trying top track the glycemic index of the foods I am actually eating. Thanks for the help.

Promoting products doesn't seem right. Why are you doing this? Who makes the profit? Your friend BG needs to be below 120 at least so diet and exercise should help.

Ugh. Was up til 5:30 AM working ona project (long story) and took a quick shower before going to bed for a few brief hours. Realized at the last second that in all the comotion I hadn't taken my Humalog at all last night (I also neglected to eat anything.) So at5:30 AM I took my morning dose that on a normal day I would be taking on awakening at 7 AM anyway.
Got up at 9:30, checked my sugar, it was 56....... First time I have ever had to eat one of my wife's ice cream sandwiches for breakfast.

Hi Laura,
I was diagnosed with diabetes about a year ago and just recently had to start using insulin along with the pills. I just started using FB (3 days ago) because everything I had tried in the past has failed. Weight loss is a necessity as well as changing the way I eat. I'm hoping to find friends, support, and challenges to help me change my lifestyle to become more healthy.
In my job, I sit all day and just recently began to walk about 3 times a day for 30 minutes. I don't look for quick fixes any longer and I know this is something that I will need to do for the rest of my life. Due to my weight, I have back issues and I'm slowly trying to strengthen my back so I can do more exercises besides walking.
Good luck to you and I hope to hear from you.
